Finally a glimpse in the capsuleer nature of eve online. Words and illustrations can do a really good job at replacing "the door" experience.

And who knows, finally when CCP decides to open the door, they will have so much easier task having lots of conceptual work already done true comics, books or the TV show

BALEX, bringing piracy on a whole new level.

Anyone look at cut away picture books as a kid? Always some guy on the toilet pooping into a moat. Just saying, space people poop too.

Your suggestion is noted. Be advised, that the image does not show what occurs within the capsule, which is a very private place, whose fluids probably have ample circulation to account for... soilage.

I know it is nearly seven months away, but hopefully you folks could potentially plan on visiting the New York Comic Con's sister convention here in Chicago - C2E2.

I would not mind getting that old art book (out of print?) signed.

Will definitely be putting in a preorder for the source book, maybe the comic book as well. Great coffee table reading. Cool

Quite a lot! The game is one portal into the Universe. Dust 514 is another. Valkyrie will then be another. The TV series then another.

The book approaches the universe as it strikes us and as we would like to represent it. With the written word and imagery we don't have the same constraints as a game client imposes on us, and thus, we will exercise that freedom as much as we can.

Sorry about ruining your day with pretty pictures! Smile

I too exercise that freedom in this very forums, as a preventive measure to not get too bitter too often. P

But then i can't but crave for what it should have been and now won't be. Concerning EVE, learning of Incarna is the second thing I regret more, right after having started playing it almost 5 years ago. Blink

Well you can look at this book as one way as opening the Door, mentally.

I'm already doing that, what hurts it's the lack of hopes to do it in a more tangible way. It's not the pretty pictures what's wrong... it's the ugly game. Blink

By the way, some people are getting really carried over the Algos cutaway. They think those could be concept arts for upcoming features. You really don't deserve some of your customers... Lol

Possible for the concept art in the blog to be available as full res images... I would like me a new background Smile

Yes, a high res algos cutaway would be nice for me to stare at :D

Am I also the only one who laughed my ass off about the soilage btw?

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

The lore is very influential for concepts for in game content. Have you thought about an interactive book for tablets? The interactive book Anomaloy is an example.

And right you are. After all, you're artists!....Big smile

If you keep on striving to lift the EvE visuals as we see them in-game to the highest level possible (as you almost always did), I will not complain. On the contrary, already there are some fantastic artistic views to be seen in-game.

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

That's a good idea, something interactive. Of course, there is the often overlooked Fiction Portal which is very rich with content and background about the Universe.

I mean... you show us a cutaway drawing of an Algos... it looks totally cool... but then we are in a game where the only thing you'll ever experience from within, it's an empty room.

I feel a severe disonance, because that book looks beautiful... promising... it fuels my imagination. But then, it haves nothing to do with EVE Online the game. Not just my personal experience with it, but also what the game really does and accomplishes. I wish with all my heart hat EVE was like that book. Capsules. Cities. Crowds. Compartments. Humans...

But the real game is like this:

Pretty lights - The battle of Asakai

It's not bad, not at all, when such a massive event triggers spontaneously and players get 110% of what they put into he game, but it haves nothing to do with what those books say about EVE.

And i am too burned out to afford loving the artworks in that book and then get back to the real EVE.

I feel your pain sister! All the work that has gone into 'drawing' the ship interiors, and here we are 10 years in and still no in game ship walkthrough.

I'm surprised it hasn't been fan made yet with all the level editing tools around.

How much work would it be to put a team of devs on giving us 4 'showroom' stations where we can tour each factions ships.

I hate to compare here, but a certain other space game, is not even released yet and the ship interiors are already up!

Well, I read that Dev Blog or I should say I tried to read that Dev Blog.

Come on, lets get real. I don't know what possessed you to think it was wise to type that using vulgar unintelligent gang bang street slang. You could have at least used correct spelling. It's definitely not cool and if it was meant to be a joke, then it was foolhardy and very inappropriate.

How about adding some proper intelligent English text for those of us who are not only High School Graduates but have also completed College / University courses as well. The type of grammar displayed in the Dev Blog is definitely not allowed in those institutions.

I sincerely hope the books are not written like that Dev Blog. If so, then that definitely casts a bad light on this whole project.

Is the event over already? Any news or link please? Thanks! Been waiting for this event to be over the whole week!

Well, she wants the game to be more like all the EVE fiction though, not the book to be more like the game :p

EVE is like a Honda Civic with a sticker saying: "My other car is a Porsche".

Sure. I too can imagine fancy things. But what I'm paying for, is to press F1 at red crosses.

Awesome exists, but not in EVE.
