Alas I moved away from London a few months ago. However, if you're in London as a tourist you're probably going to want to use the tube to get about. Here's a few pointers for that:-

1) Don't talk to/look at anyone - it's against the rules.
2) Stand on the left of escalators. DO NOT rest your huge suitcase on the right. People will get angry.
3) Only stop to check maps at the appropriate places. Examples of inappropriate places - at the top of escalators, or while there are >1000 people who are late for work directly behind you.
4) DO NOT hold the doors open while you get a photo of you and the family waving from the train.
5) If you get sick of the tube, don't try and use the buses - they'll make your brain melt.

Seriously though, enjoy your stay. London's a great place and actually largely friendly, if you're into clubs at all have a look at Fabric on a Friday night, always a good laugh. Also, go to Brick Lane for a curry - you'll love it.
