Multiple selection for editing PI installations

Say, you have five basic industry facilities that you want to set up with the same schematic. Usually they all take the same input and route the same output from/to the same launchpad. Why not be able to select them all and edit their schematic and routes simultaneously?

Thus, when:

  • You change the schematic for one, you change it for all.
  • Create a route to one, the same route gets created to all - same resource from the same source.
  • Create a route from one, all of them get a route for the same resource to the same destination.


Yes, I get that CCP doesn't want to make this passive source of income too easy but they way it is now is just mind-numbingly repetitive. Significantly more so than watching your strip miners' cycles or switching targets when shooting NPCs.

Amazing, I came to type exactly this.

1. Ctrl + mouse click, adding more of (only the same) facility to a selection. Then operate them all via the same interface. The existing one or a new one.

or

2. Each facility has a "export settings" and a "import settings" in the form of a button or contextmenu.

Idea's a bit light on the details ... but less clicking is generally a good thing(tm), so +1

seconded, since 99% of the time you want to set multiple factories to do the exact same thing.
