I've scanned down and completed quite a few 3/10 to 5/10 drone plexes in the last few days but all i ever get is OPE's :/ Also gotten a few drone escalations which resulted in the worst loot ever. Are drones just generally like this or is it my bad luck?

Drones are like that. Very few explorers run drone sites.
