Wait, the Procurer only has one High slot? I get two for my Venture . . . will I be cutting my mining yield in half with the Procurer?

Nope. Procurer has bonuses the Venture does not. Gotta learn to read into the stats and descriptions.

Also: the Venture has only its speed to tank it; its shileds and armor are tissue-thin. Procurer can easily reach Battle Cruiser level tank numbers; it's got a hide like a rhino.

I see it now.
For tanking, I'll be in High Sec 90% of the time, so not really a deal-breaker for me.

After signing over your ethics in blood to the Devil Himself, and then agreeing to be a "CTA 3 AM in the morning slave" to a Rabble Rabble.

Then you can do the anomalies in Null.

Or run missions in lowsec.

For just that tiny bit more in ISK as High Sec ? U SO FU-NNY !

Or you can go to w-space.

Yup, for a brand new solo new player, that a really marvelous idea.

I thought it needed pointing out in a separate post than above.

Feeling most helpful today are you not ?

Your ignorance never ceases to amaze.

You are most welcome.

I'm sorry that I actually do read what people post about their Null experiences. Over and over again.

But you go ahead and troll. OR stop those who post such information if you think it's so so so wrong. Maybe they will stop trolling me and everybody else with such disinformation as you (falsely) claim.

But I'm delighted to have helped you get a little bit of your pent up anger out of your system for the day.

Hey learn to read and leave me out of that.

My comment was aimed at the fool who suggested you run those Null Anomalies.

Be aware that I have potted Ventures 'just because.' Hi-Sec is where the vast majority of barge ganks happen; it is NOT safe. Mind you, the typical miner doesn't get ganked all that often, but the odds are decidedly non-zero. Procurers and Skiffs are the low-priority targets, because they're harder to kill and generally don't generate the quantities of tears the more expensive hulls do.

Whilst you're getting started, do what you can to tip the odds in your favor.

OP:

You would have gotten better and more legitimate responses had you posted in the proper forum in Science and Industry.

OP: I have chosen the worst possible way to make isk and as* such do not have enough isk.

EVE: Here's how to make isk!

OP: I NEVER WANTED TO KNOW THAT WTF!!?!?!?! GTFO.

To the poor person talking about making 23m a week.... =(

You could sneeze that in half an hour with a day's worth of training just cleaning up space-garbage**.

Jesus, that would be one LONG sneeze!!! If your sneezes last half an hour, you should seriously hit up the emergency room!

As someone who has flown in both high and null, and now has mains in both WH corps and low-sec, I would like to contribute a few things to this thread.

One: Mining is a godawfull waste of time for anyone who isn't multi-boxing 8 barges and 2 orcas, or gas mining in W-space.

Two: At the guy bitching about being in null: I have absolutely never, heard of someone being kicked JUST for missing CTA's in a null alliance.
Not logging in for a month without telling anyone why? Yes. Being a general ****, or actively stealing/awoxing? Absolutely. Just missing CTA's though? Never.

Three: I've never screwed around with building things, but from what I have been told, if your goal is industry, then it makes far more sense to produce things where you can simply buy the materials off the market, then produce them. Again, mining your own minerals, is a terrible waste of time. Market research and some basic math should tell you which items will be profitable to produce this way. It comes down to having smaller profit margins, but producing vastly larger amounts of actual product (thus recieving much more revenue).

if you can figure out how to AFK in reasonable safety (you'll probably get ganked occasionally it's just eve) then mining is viable, especially for newer players who don't want to mess with low sec or grind missions.

it is crappy ISK per hour though.

i've some fond memories of just chillin with eve jukebox, mining missions and suchlike. just a capsuleer among many, cut adrift amongst the stars. it was sort of a mellow background activity.

these days, as if. high sec is pretty dangerous and full of background noise. low sec income can be both easy and relatively risk free. i would go there if i were staring as a priority.

forums.  serious business.

if OP insists to mine in HS, go buy and fit a tank procurer. save up DOUBLE the ISK needed for a T2 barge (at least) before upgrading.

And, DO NOT use a hulk if u r mining solo with 1 a/c. WTF u r doing here? hulks r for multi-boxers! go buy a mackinaw or better a skiff~~~
