Title says it all, I've been out of the game for so long that I have no clue where to start. I found certificates and am starting to pump out some additional skills.

If this turns out to be a new corp, I'm ok with that, really just looking for someone with some time to answer questions / take me under their wing.

If memory serves me right, I was a miner using mostly drones. I'm not even sure if that is a valid path anymore.

My Current skillbase is:
Gallente Cruiser 3
Frigate 4
Industrial 3
Command 3
Mining 5
Reining 5
Drones 5
Mining Drones 2
Scout drones 2

I been busy as of late so no guarantees you get anything from me in particular but join the channel "EVE Tutors" and start poking around in there. Tell them Xerc sent ya.

To join a channel you can use:
-Neocom, There is a button on there that is always showing that represents all chat channels you currently have open, minimized and active. At the bottom of this list (or top, I forget lol) there is an extra option to open the channels listing.
-"E Menu", The E in EVE logo font at the top of the neocom is like a Windows start menu (hotkey [ \ ]) and from in there you can find a button that goes directly to the channels window.
-Existing Chat Window, At the top left of every chat window there is a speech bubble icon, clicking this will open the channel list as well.

Once you have this open type in the channel name (I dont think it's case sensitive) to the top bar and attempt to join it :P

If you wanna continue using drones try looking into the drone certificates.

Besides that you'll want the core competency certs and probably some active armor tanking certs for your Gallente ships you'd fly.

Keep in mind, thought, that the certs system is getting overhauled in the Winter expansion which CCP wants to push out as early as the 19th of November.

Well then today might be your lucky day.

First time in weeks I haven't been stuck doing some sort of meeting or going and doing some errands that burn the entire day.

If you're in Cali like I am then perhaps sign in on the EVE Cali thread here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=11347&find=unread

Ignore certificates, they're terrible, that's why they're getting redone in a few months.

Get Evemon, get some fits off of some some popular & successful small gang PvPers, maybe from the lossmails of people that have put out vids that have interesting mechanics to you, and have training into that plus getting some experience of your own guide you to find what you find fun to do for PvP.

Also: RvB, Agony, Eve-Uni?

Red vs Blue(the Eve-specific one), Agony Unleashed and Eve University are 3 noob-friendly corps/alliances to experience PvP in and/or be taught the game's combat mechanics by.

Mine if you like to mine, and/or if it's an easier way for you to make isk than missioning is, but typically PvE that involves dps & tanking is good isk/hour, gives you some experience in the basics of those mechanics (against terrible 'opponents') and lets you mostly train for PvP while also increasing that isk/hour.
It would be very hard to say which char of several you would be best to train towards which goal. Easiest would be you identify those goals, the ships & fits that seems to associate with them, and then export & import that training plan in EveMon to see which char achieves it fastest. You could then either let the other focus on something else, or sell it to someone wanting e.g. a mining char, or just save the PLEX from not training it.

FWIW, this subforum isn't really for this kind of thread. Maybe they should rename the place Blink
