Mining Corp membership for Hulk?

I'm about to wrap up the skills to pilot a Hulk on my mining alt, but I don't actually have anywhere near the 200mil ISK to purchase one. Are there programs where I can subsidize my Hulk purchase through a mining corp if I join and work to get them all my raw or refined materials? Like, is that a "thing"?

If not, I think it'll take me a couple months to get it on my own . . . then I'll never want to fly it in fear of losing it! lol

Fly a T1 Mining Barge first, since you clearly don't have enough to afford losing a Hulk.

What's to stop you taking the hulk and running?

Just grind away for it like I did 3 years ago.

Or are you one of those 'instant win' new players invading the game ?

At the same time I was grinding up an Orca pilot.

What with awox-ing, it's highly unlikely anyone is just going to hand you a Hulk. But good luck anyway.

I'm not sure of any "things" where people/corps would be willing to part with cash like that to help you.

However, on a side note I've been logging the money I'm making and in the last week I've made 23 million ISK through a combination of Mining II missions (it's what's available at the mo) and mining my own personal stash and selling the ore. I could've made a lot more but I've only been selling small amounts of the ores I collect as I'd still like to have a deminimis amount in my hanger.

So that's 23 million through half hearted attempt averaging 2 hours per day. Imagine what you could do if you put in a bit more effort than me and you'd have it in a matter of weeks!

Getting 200 million shouldn't take you too long tbh.

And besides, it feels alot better if you can tell yourself "I afforded this on my own".

Yeah I'm in a Venture right now. I think I'm skilled up enough for a T1 mining barge, I guess I can take that route instead of full-on upgrading to a T2 barge.

I'm certainly not an "instant win" player, just searching for options. I've been on-and-off EVE for about 3 years, and have been grinding with my mining alt for probably 5 months. I don't mind waiting, like I said, the subsidization was just a thought that crossed my mind.

I honestly had no idea the missions paid out well versus simply mining and selling on your own! That's something I can look into, thanks.

I feel that's more opinion than anything else. I will maybe have an hour every couple days to spend playing EVE, plus a few more on weekends, so not only is my time limited but I also lack the experience to really earn ISK like many people on this forum do (but I'm trying to soak the information up best I can!). Eventually I hope to get into a good ISK earning cycle (followed by ISK-spending sprees, of course)

200 Mil just takes four hours or so running anomalies in...oh, you are stuck in highsec, mining. Never mind.

I've seen corps give new guys not even an hour into the corp Retrievers, Mackinaws, and even Orcas. So anything can happen. Bad things happened to those corps. But you might find someone willing to help you with a ship.

But surely you have enough for a Procurer. That is a big upgrade from a Venture. Getting in a ship you can't afford to loose violates the first rule of Eve, so I wouldn't recommend getting a T2 barge until you have way more isk than just the cost of the ship.

After signing over your ethics in blood to the Devil Himself, and then agreeing to be a "CTA 3 AM in the morning slave" to a Rabble Rabble.

Then you can do the anomalies in Null.

Or you can go to w-space. Or run missions in lowsec. Or join a different null alliance.

Mate, buy a Procurer for less than 10 million. It has double the ore hold space of your Venture. Don't buy a Retriever. It cost many times more, has much weaker defenses in the hands of a new player such as yourself, and it is a gank magnet.

With your new Procurer, save up to buy your Hulk. In the meantime, you may decide that you find mining to be unbelievably boring and that you want to do something else in the game. Like, one of the many other cool things that you can do.

I actually might just do that. Thanks

Mission grind. You can grind the necessary iskies fairly quickly, if you're dedicated. Or get a Skiff and go mine your cash.

Never fly what you can't afford to lose. And if you're only just now able to fly a Hulk, I'm betting your supporting skills are weak. Which means "TARGET." Be patient. Mine in lesser vessels until you've a billion or so saved up - then, when your first Hulk goes >BOOM< you can afford a replacement.

If, on the other hand, you insist on flying a Hulk the first chance you get, kindly send me a note on which system you're in, and your normal hours of operation. I'll be along presently. Twisted
