So I'm thinking about getting to some marketeering with the money I've earned in PvP

I found a regional hub that I can start doing business in and I was wondering how exactly to get started.

Do you ship items from the main market hub to the regional hub and sell for more?
Do you just play around with the individual items at the hub (buy them out, sell at higher prices)?
Do you strictly do buy/sell orders(No industry support on the side)?

Also, what skills should I train up? Assuming just everything in the trade skillsheet?

first rule of trading/business is "buy low, sell high". However you can figure that out doesn't really matter, so long as you're selling for more than you paid (taxes and time factored in).

Some people solely trade, others manufacture and then sell, still others just do one part of the whole process (e.g. --> mine ore/ice/gas, sell refined goods).

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

My personal experiences from market PvP -

Find an item you do not need, but would not mind owning. Reviewing prices through a regional market that does not contain a major market hub, you note the few selling prices that are nearly expired, no buying orders, and decide to casually wait. A few weeks later that same item has that nagging desire to be owned, so you review the process again and note nothing has changed. So you decide to place a buy order at a price you feel is reasonable.

Within a hour to a day, you will have someone suddenly desire the same item, will need at least ten of them, and place a buy order 0.01 ISK higher than your order. Within a week, there will be at least half a dozen to a dozen buy orders above your original price requiring multiple amounts at higher and higher 0.01 ISK increased prices. There may even be a buy order for one thousand of the same item for 0.01 ISK with a regional buying range. At the same time, there will be a smaller number of sellers suddenly arriving, each placing their item for sale 0.01 ISK lower.

Many times these buyers and seller are within the same station and seem to alter their buying and selling prices within seconds of each other. Roll

You decide to increase your buying price pretty substantially, especially since you want just one of the item and within a short distance from your purchasing station. Those with large order may or may not jump over this price; but you will get those with smaller request amounts jumping 0.01 ISK above your new price within one hour. My personal ~best~ was a price 0.01 ISK higher than mine within a second of me changing my price.

This will continue for a while and the market graph will show a sudden spike in buying and selling of this particular item. More people will join the fray.

Eventually, if you want the item bad enough, you'll make a trip to Jita and instantly buy it much cheaper than your last buying cost. Meanwhile, as you cease to market PvP, the same item goes quiet until orders drop off.

Haul warp core stabs and cloaks to caldari basing systems. Markup 2000%, laugh as people buy them hand over fist.

By market PVP, do you mean non-deceptive docked market PVP (0.01 ISK wars, market manipulations), non-deceptive undocked market PVP (Here's a rival with a freighter load of goods, better pop it to crush them) or do you mean deceptive market PVP (scamming, AWOXing your rival's trade convoys)?
