How does the Proteus stack against the other T3 Cruisers in the following areas:
Small gang PvP/solo
L4 missions
Wormhole small gang/solo

Im especially interested in low sec solo gate camps as I see so often in this ship.

Fittings would also be appreciated but keep the bling low please!

The Proteus is a very good brawler if used in a small gang environment, with the added benefit of being able to fit a monster armor buffer tank.

Its not as good alone due to the range of blasters or the tracking issues you might have in kiting with 250s.

It excels in WH PvP due to the nature of the engagements and the fact that you get a lot of ship for the mass used.

For L4 missioning, you are better off with an Astarte (if you can fly one) or a BS.

On low sec gate camps the big advantage is that it gets a point range bonus and unlike it's Recon brothers, it has an absolutely monstrous tank and does not need to worry much about low-sec gate guns.

In Womrholes the Proteus is the best cloaky PVP T3 and thus really popular for that role. It is also used in WH T3 fleets because of the small mass.

Can only say for L4s from your list, but it is over tanked and under gunned.

Ends up about the dps of a mega, maybe bit more, but half the range.

Be nice boat if the tank was needed.

Excuse me, but what the f*ck are you desu?

Have you tried it in low or null sec combat sites?
The extra tank might come in handy but I've never tried them so I wouldn't know.

L4: If you have a week.

Small Gang: Good Brawler

Cloaky WH Hunter: The best use I think.
That Seems Legit

With 500 dps cold in a cloaked fit, the proteus is amazing for hunting solo in any space.

Its a viable passive shield tank and have run serp 10/10s, L5s in it. Ishtar is better though.

Cloaky solo pvp hunter its amazing. 700dps 100k EHP it melts PvE ships. Lacks mids though so you either have prop mod scram but have to choose between cap booster and web, so worrying in PvP solo if you get a kiter or nueted. Still it scrams out to 15 with SS scram so usually take cap booster.

Never used it in L4s theres way better ships for much cheaper.

Using a proteus solo can turn into accidental suicide pretty easily. While it is a wonderful gankboat, it loses ground to other ships once enemies spread out or in general give you trouble maintaining range.

So if it has to be a proteus, I'd recommend getting a bro in a loki at least - for making sure you're not getting kited by an AB-fitted caracal.
