Hi

There is something I do not understand : When I look at the EOS description I see :

Command Ships skill bonus per level:
3% bonus to the strength of Armored Warfare and Skirmish Warfare links

But some of the prerequisites are very heavy to learn :

for Command Ships Level I

Armored Warfare Level V

Information Warfare Level V

Siege Warfare Level V

Skirmish Warfare Level V

Armored warfare and Skirmish warfare, I understand because of the bonus previously quoted

But what is the point to learn Information Warfare Level V and Skirmish Warfare Level V just to be able to fly command ships I don't care about ? DAMN

Was there a giant chunk of the past recently unearthed?

I just have to know because it seems like there are a lot of whine threads about stuff that changed months ago happening this week.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Command ships are major force-multipliers. Powerful tools shouldn't be just lying around for just anyone to pick up and use - else they become OP.

If you have less than 10m SP in leadership, you don't have the balls to fly command ships.

It's not whining it's questionning. FYI I already had command ships trained to 5 prior to the patch, I just wonder why to have to train irrelevant skills for a ship which do not provide any bonus related to these skills.

maybe you see lots of whine threads just because you don't recognize the true whinage Roll

no problems here

the best part is that the character can't even fly command ships or T3s

The "Command Ships" skill isn't race or bonus specific.

The point is that CS are — quite rightly — very skill-heavy ships due to the massive difference they can make. That one ship can add millions of additional EHP that the enemy has to chew through.

Those skills are there to make your job, and the job of the fleet easier. It means that having a CS in a boosting position ensures that everyone gets large bonuses to their base stats, and that you don't have to choose between those when you pick what kind(s) of CS you want in your fleet.

They're not irrelevant. You are in a fleet boosting ship. Those skills boost your fleet, regardless of what ship you're in.

Yes, but all different races have different hull boni from the Command Ship skill. So it makes sense for the "Command Ships" skill bonus to require all Warfare support skills at level V, not only the ones benefitting the Eos.

OK Tippia, thanks for a clear answer. but about T3 ? they give very nice fleet boost also and are very easier to skill for !

T3s are of an old and incomplete paradigm, and they're up for a near-complete revision that is likely include further changes to the boosting subsystems

If you had Command Ships at 5 before the change then you can fly one.

I too have noticed that. Just wait there will be whine threads about (insert random 3yr + expansion here) in a few days. Did everyone just come back from a very long vacation to discover CCP has changed some things?

Make that Battle Cruiser V, and you then have a post that actually means something real.

Always anxious to prove folks wrong. One had to have trained Command Ships to one before the noted changes to fly one without all the boost skills. BC5 was not enough.
