I'm in a Dust corp & alliance. I need an alliance with eve data.

Couldn't you just spoof it? Create a web service that returns stuff formatted like the api pulls you are trying to do. You could create as many as you want and it would be as real as you wanted it to be. Its all just XML after all.

I'm not sure what you mean.

Right now, I'm doing the authentication system. A user signed up, and then he can submit APIs. The system looks at the API and determines of its account, character, corporation, or alliance. It then acts accordingly populating the database with the data that is associated with that API key type.

So what I do is I write the function, and then I put it on the website, and run the function to see if it does what I want. If it does, I continue on to the next development objective.

Right now, I am at the point where if someone submits a corp API, the system populates the character database with everyone in the corp. Then, when a member of the corp comes, and submits their API data, they can say, oh, you are the owner of this character, and it will associate the character to the account.

This is all fine. But the thing is.. now I'm ready to do the alliance API. But, how can I test that my code is bug free without an alliance API to enter in so that I can make sure data is populating the database? I need real data.

This makes no sense what so ever.. Basically you cannot code?. You know what data the API (xml) will generate why cant you just code the system and use fake generated data?

Looking at the API lists, there is no "alliance" api?. You would have to pull the list of corps and then each corp would have to provide its API?

I think it's funny that because I lack experience with all the data available through the API, you think my development ability is bad.

Anyway, thank you for the information. The fact that alliance API doesn't exist saves me time. I already got the corp, character, and account type of API working, and character list already populates for user. so yeah, authentication system is done ^.^

My alliance already has had an in house developer create this for us. For a mere 150billion isk you could purchase access from me.

That's a pretty good make believe system you got there, it's worth at least 200 bill i'd say. Maybe even 250.

Fantastic. If you're not selling anything, then why not start a new thread elsewhere. The Sell Orders is for actually selling stuff, in case you missed out on the rules or forgot how to read while you were in China.

Fantastic. If you're not selling anything, then why not move this thread out of the sell orders.

right, we could move it, orrr you could let it die by not posting :P

My two cents from business perspective...

I believe there's not many corporations and alliances willing to dish out 100B even for a software that is complete and working, much less one that is in the planning and development stage. They would use other solutions and then it's hard to lure them away.

If I were you and really hoping to make it work, I would make a core system that supports API registration, automatic permissions, forums, templating and extensions and make it free or very cheap to get people using it.

Main source of incoume would come from selling extensions. Whenever there is something all corporation types would not benefit, such as killboard for example, you would make it as an add-on and possibly charge.

You will earn more.

So,

You've tried this before... Failed.

You tried sale pitching your "company" on Facepunch... Mocked no end and even hacked. And to be honest, I've seen more professional websites for a much lower price.

You come back here with a super idea SAME pitch... Not looking good is it?

Like the others have said, you would stand a much better chance of creating the website, have people test it and iron out the leeks and then pitch it as a monthly service. IF (and its a god damn big IF) takes off and the word gets around you may just then have your 100billion.

Until then;

NOPE.

If I end up making this website without an investor, I promise you it won't be sold.

You lack a common set of skills. We here in the REAL WORLD call them "Common Sense".

Common sense tells us that we do not purchase a product without trying it first. If you're looking for investors you're in the wrong profession, and you're definitely in the wrong game.

Your FP disaster pretty much proves you're a script kiddy with no real talent, who's trying to con people out of money. My suggestion, just become a scammer in JITA, it doesnt require intelligence. You can even write a simple bot to continually post your scam in local!
