I know , I know, this has been beat to death but I want to clarify first that I am not whinning about cloakies. What I want is a way to track them. If an AFK Cloaky wants to camp in MY system for days on end, like he obviously has no life, right? Than IF i want to invest an equally laborious and boring period of time I should be able to track his location, stellar drift, warp trail or what ever and eventually warp to and kill. Might take 3-4 days or a week. But you cant tell me that the people who invented the cloak didnt invent a way to track it.

This is the future after all right?

An afk cloaker probably has a life on account of the fact that he is AFK when you are fretting about him.

AFK cloaking counters the grand intel source called local and provides the much needed unknown factor is this game.

Ideally, local shouldn't exist. You shouldn't positively know that there are no hostiles in system or not.

And no, you shouldn't be able to scan them down. You should never have perfect intel.

on a star-lit night,
another cloak thread appears,
a troll leaves his cave.

(No seriously, this has been discussed so many times the "AFK cloak collection thread" has reached threadnaughtic proportions. ISD/CCP should probably sticky that thing for people that don't like to search for the search button.)

- It very rarely leaves the first page as it is.
- lol @ thinking people suggesting solutions to "afk" cloaking will read stickies

to the OP: Get some friends. Grow some balls. Do your ratting in a pvp ship.

If he's solo, you'll win.
If he's got friends, where are yours? Sounds like a good fight in the making.

Interesting point, i must admit. I think I would rather have the ability to scan them instead of local. It would be more " Immersive" ? .

Was going to say something about someone from SS complaining about cloaky campers when former Tribe. But I see you weren't in tribe. So you're excused.

Learn to live with it bro. It's a part of nulsec life. Ask your bros from IG or CDIAT about cloaky camping. Especially the guys from CDIAT. ;)

I purposefully visit the forums in hope to find a new anti-cloaking thread to read and enjoy my coffee breaks.

May I suggest you just close the local window and play as if you were in a wormhole system? This would save you a lot of trouble and time.

The people of Crielere Labs who invented the cloak didn't even finish inventing the cloak in the first place. All they managed to create before the Gallente and Caldari governments both withdrew their funding was a rough and barely-functional prototype.

Therefore, I can and will indeed tell you that the people who invented the cloak did not in fact invent a way to track it.

Please learn to nullsec, and have a nice day.

how about a cloaked missile that can travel to the far reaches of eve and only targets people that create afk cloaking threads.
