I had an encounter this evening with the http://www.minerbumping.com/
I read through their manifesto and beliefs that allow them to do what they are doing. “Ramblings of a madman” What they are doing is nothing short of a Mafia style protection scam. Pay us or -------

Sure 10 million isk is not all that much to pay – yet you must display your New Order ID number in your bio (Badge of Shame) for them to leave you alone.

No matter how eloquent their verbiage and solidly based on what they can get away with, following current game mechanics, it is still bullying and intimidation of the populous of the EVE community.

Seeing how on line bullying is a major subject of disdain within the entire Internet Community, maybe CCP needs to take a look at this.

I am sure that I am not their first “Customer – forced to wear their badge of SHAME in my bio to prevent then from further intimidation.” and strengthen their community influence.

Yes because "bullying" and "intimidation" is not one of the main attractions in EVE.

Show me where the bad bullies touched your mining ship.

Welcome to eve.

Like most things in life, if you embrace what it is instead of trying to make it what you want it to be, you will have a lot more fun.

It's a cold, harsh place, if you don't want to play here then kindly go play another game.

No.
It is called emergent gameplay.
It is a totally legal business.
I would like to this official thread in C&P regarding minerbumping.

I guess this is not the game I started playing over 10 years ago (Betas)

Yes of course an Alt.

Sorry to see it has devolved into this. There is so much to do on a positive/cooperative venture.
Not a direction I wanted to see it go – turned into a scam run by a bunch of players who have no real experience with the game other than their short sited evil and gratification of their desire to feel somehow powerful. Because they are a bunch of 97 lb weaklings in RL. With no real strength of character other than that they can impose in a totally anonymous Internet game.

It is easy to be evil and destructive in this game. What the real challenge is – to work with others toward a common goal – put yourself into it, grow some balls and work for your survival. You may actually enjoy your gains.

GIBBS – Smack to the back of the head – it is a wake up call :)

What an original and well thought out post. No one has ever made a thread about this new and exciting topic before.

Also, search function.

Yes,

Our 3 person corp still mines both Rock and Ice
We build stuff and sell it on the market.

We WORK for our survival, We help new players when we can.
There must be over 100 new players out there who have suddenly found 25-100 million in their wallet with the suggestion that they buy some skills.
There are players who have been given Freighters when they needed them.
There are players who have been given POS research time (free) we research their BPOs and give then back to them – rather than – thanks for the BPO – Bye

Honesty and integrity are what we live by. Guess that is why a large scam bothers us so much.

That is the awesome thing about it, they are actually providing the cold and harsh universe ccp promised us when we signed up for the game.

Live in hi-sec and get extorted by a madman, or move to null and server the space tyrants... no easy choice.

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

Here you will wear this cowpie on a rope around your neck from this day forward and if you do not we will kill you, your entire corp and perform unspeakable things to your livestock.

Hmm sounds like bullying to me.

Everyone knows your stance on that... Tippia will come next, followed by our favorite NO nuts.

...on topic: Agreed, I understand where you come from... what I don't understand is, your need to make a dedicated topic for this issue... it's useless and just brings out the worst elements in the GD.

My advice: Ignore the lunatics, do your thing, and if all else fails, quit the game... that's what I will do.

Minerbumping, evil?
What on earth have you been smoking, because I want some.
Code Enforcement is an enjoyable experience, knowing I am assisting in the great reformation of high security space through one of Eve's premier examples of emergent gameplay makes me happy.
Blowing up your pixels makes me happy, and it isn't evil. At worst I have comitted gratuitous enjoyable violence against your space pixels. That isn't evil.
If your definition of evil constitutes me doing violence to your space pixels then you need to go up to your room and think about what you've done. Or alternatively go outside.

I do this for many reasons. I do it because I believe it is right. I do it because I will profit by it. These all consolidate into one reason: I do it because I can.

Wow. That is amazing.

You can tell not only their body mass but also their RL personalities, just by reading a website? You should be working for your countries intelligence services with skills like that.

They dont follow you around everywhere and you always have the ability to fight back simply by not sitting still and AFK mining in a barge with no tank.

Its extortion, nothing more.
