Hello,

I was wondering if there was such a thing as a CCP Ombudsman, or some authorities in Iceland we can turn to if we feel the company has not addressed a problem adequately?

Thank you sincerely,

sometimes it's better to ask in the forum if it isn't confidential. I submitted an inquery myself, 2 months or so ago and I am still waiting for a responce, it just depends on what department you send it to and who answers back. Some are quicker than others in getting back to you. Some inquries I get a responce in a day or two, some take a lot longer it seems.

Yes, it's called your wallet.

If you aren't satisfied with a commercial service you just stop using it.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

No, it's not as simple as that.

I've been playing this game since 2005. Originally when CCP was hoping to publish my Miner's Guide, I had a link at their HQ with Kieron, who was the director of community relations, but he doesn't seem to work there anymore.

The problem has to do with a petition I opened two months ago that is getting nowhere, and I am sure it is incompetence-related.

Kieron would have had this problem resolved in a day, an Ombudsman would at the very least make sure all protocols were followed.

Thank you!

When private companies, other than media outlets, have an ombudsman it is typically to intercede in internal company matters.

In Canada companies usually have an Ombudsman or equivalent to receive complaints of customers so they may be reviewed internally but also externally from the department that is concerned.

Short of writing a snail mail letter to their HQ in Iceland, I am not sure which way is the best to bring a problem to the attention of someone who may have the influence or ability to help.

If you feel a petition is not being addressed to your satisfaction you can ask for it to be excalated to a Senior and then on to a Lead if necessary. Please note that complex investigative issues may take longer so a reply may not come through immediately.

Hope this helps.

CCP Navigator: thank you very much for this clarification, much appreciated.

Do you know what happened to Charles (Kieron)?

Cheers!

Kieron stopped working for CCP early 2008.
No announcement was made and no comments were made how or why; when asked what happened, CCP Wrangler (hey, what happened to Wrangler?), kieron's successor, declined to comment (EVE-search thread: 733079-0).

That is very unfortunate. He was a super nice fella.

What about contacting a CSM? If it's an issue that's of value to the community perhaps they could champion it for you.

Thanks for the kind words!

I actually subbed back to the game a month and a half ago to write a new guide/book. I asked for advice and input here, so feel free to participate if you'd like to voice your opinions. :)

It's actually going well, but the problem with my petition is hindering the progress of that new guide, so I'd like the problem resolved ASAP.
