Tengu severely outclassed by Raven with new upcoming launcher?

PvP Tengus die pretty well to several weapon systems already.

hardly, the Raven can't have as much buffer and as good of a resist map as the tengu.

I can get behind this. There is no reason a T3 should outdamage a HAC. Personally, I would like to see battlecruisers between HAC and T3 cruisers. I think all in all, T3 cruisers in general are just a little too strong.

That's not accurate at all. That depends largely on what you're shooting. The raw dps numbers are in favor of the Tengu, applied DPS-wise the cruise missiles would do better on large targets, while the Tengu would be considerably faster on smaller ships.

Running some fits through Pyfa and EFT, it would appear that the Raven only starts pulling ahead when the signature radius exceeds 280m. Basically meaning that the only time a Raven would do more applied damage, is when shooting a select few BC,s and all BS.

If you say the Raven 'easily' outdamages the Tengu, my question to you is, where are those numbers??

That doesn't make sense. If the Tengu has more DPS, then it will be better applied against larger targets too, since there is no damage reduction when you up in target sizes.

What you mean is that the raw DPS numbers are in favour of the Raven, which means the cruises provide better applied damage against larger targets. Funnily enough, the Raven can often be better against smaller targets too, since medium missiles aren't all that good against frigates, whereas the Raven has drones to deal with those…

Literally the only thing a Raven and a Tengu have in common is that they are both Caldari...

Twist and turn it anyway you like, how can a Battleship *outclass* a shiptype that was made to have a broad array of options to its disposal?

A battleship doing battleship DPS?? -really?

This is good. And if Tengu it stays like it is now (which I strongly doubt because of so much bullies hate) it will still be a fantastic tool to achieve many things you can't do or requires more effort to with a battleship.

Battleship = moneymaker (bounties+LP)

Tengu = blitzer = LPs (as Machs also but it's another thread)

I worded that wrong yes. I also didn't consider drone damage. I look forward to the changes though. I think these launchers are a great addition.

I love my Caldari Shuttle....

I just turned into an egg, did I level up? I spent an hour trying to salvage a wreck, when in local a guy said "Stop it, this is my Tempest, I was AFK"
