A little while. Bring a half dozen and make a garden party out of it.

Don't forget the 24 hour reinforcement timer, aka 24 hour advance notice for the defender to arrange a defense fleet to meet you :)

Naw, I'm aware of the differences. Its a question of time. Don't have the time for low/wh/null or pvp. I've seen the PI strangulation that goes on with capturable customs. No thanks. I just don't see the point of CCP doing stuff like this. How does it make the game better? It certainly makes it worse for a casual who only has a couple hours each week.

my alt does Pi in low sec with a mammoth. i should really buy her some more SP for the PI industrial ship but really i can't be bothered. the taxes are way lower than high sec and the planets give more stuff. the mwd/cloak trick works fine at gates and the multiple wcs have allowed me to warp out of every tackle so far. I don't see how it takes more time than high sec PI or how it is harder. The same alt did PI in null and when we redeploy back to null will do it again in null most likely in the same stupid mammoth. the industrial would have to be blown up many many times for it to make less sense than high sec.
If you can't handle the minor increase in risk then basically you are complaining that either the taxes on your planet will stay the same as no one will bother replacing the CO or that they are about to get lower as competition for taxes and low desire to attend an attacked structure drive taxes down as they did in low sec.
Stop crying about stuff that will make things better for you even though you are clearly unwilling to do anything for yourself.

What do CCP's actions tell you what they think of the casual player?

Let's see:

Ore mining prices inexorably sinking due to new massive null sec supplies.
High sec ice mining no longer available whenever someone logs on, and must be timed to the minute.
High sec PI profitability being hammered (unless you control the POCO).

Do you not think CCP is aware of the repercussions of these attacks on high sec?
What can you infer about the future of the casual player from these actions?

It appears that the lone CSM member that was elected on the platform of defending the interests of the casual high sec player has failed miserably.

CO make such tiny isk that no one wants to have to defend these often. The only reason to shoot them is stupid high tax or dislike of owners. The owners will try to not fall into either camp as repping structures is not a way to boost corp morale.

And that never works, because the kind of people who can't be bothered to risk useless pixels outside of hi-sec aren't the type of players who will fight IN hi-sec for anything. It's just not in their nature.

How anyone can be so feeble as to let people own them that much in a video game without even a token fight is beyond my ability to understand.

10 million HP.
10 Oracles take one down in 1000 seconds, or 18 minutes.

And when the null sec cartel fleets arrive, they will be a whole lot bigger than 10 Oracles.
Try seeing POCO's pop in 2 minutes.

In a big system, you might not even be able to undock and warp to the POCO before it will be gone.

Good, because this is a sandbox mmo, and "might makes right" should always be a base rule of a sandbox. It's themepark MMOs that create artifical protections/comfort for players.

You are and have always been playing the wrong game, but your paranoia and warped perceptions just won't let you see that.

Organize, bring more than they do. Take the oppurtuntity to strike at their null possessions while they are screwing with your possesions.

THINK. FIGHT BACK.

I swear, I will never understand the feeble minded, Until lately, i've been fighting goons non-stop since about 2008, I've been evicted from good ratting space mre times than I care to count, i've fought in anti-goon fleets that we KNEW would fail. Who knows, with EVe politics being so fractious , I may fid myself in posistion to fight them again.

But you Dinsdale types won't even try, in a video game where you can't lose anything but time? That's almost disgustingly sad.

So in much the same way erryone claimed that the new ice spawns would be gone within 3 minutes, coz the "nullsec cartels" would roll in and nuke them?

EVE is not very casual friendly. I'm pretty sure everyone knows that, by now.

It's amazing what you can accomplish in this game when you make enough friends.

EVE is a game about spaceships and there's an enormous amount of work to do on the in-space gameplay before players (or developers) are ready to sacrifice it for a totally new type of gameplay - CCP Rise

Well Rhyonda... sorry to say that, but you made two major mistakes:
1) You thought EVE is a REAL sandbox, where every style of play is viable...
2) You came to the forums and complained about it...

I see a lot of your posts. They pretty much are all complaining. Why do you still play the game if you dislike it so much? Seriously. Are you bed ridden or some such?

WTF CCP? War on teh carebears? Do you people even think about the consequences on players?

And if you took a moment to review the latest CCP video over on Twitch, you'd know there's going to be some awesome ways to steal back that "ISK" in all it's various forms.

I hang around empire a lot and i have to say, i can't thank gankers/griefers more. If it weren't for barges being blown up left and right there would be too many minerals on the market, thus bringing the prices down, which would actually make mining worse isk/hr than it already is. In addition, any noob can wait till rubicon release and claim his own POCO, theyre not that expensive. Besides, 15% tax is awful and hi-sec PI is useless as it is already.

Step 1: Join a player organization
Step 2: Take over some POCOs with your newfound friends
Step 3: ????
Step 4: Profit from doing 0% tax PI while gouging antisocial bears who use your planet

Edit: Or if you really want to be an antisocial carebear and pay 0% tax, buy yourself a wormhole. I know someone who has one with great PI for sale.

Heh, you actually make the mistake of not understanding what sandbox means.

It doesn't mean that being a moron and playing the game wrong (like a lot of highsec players) guarantees you as much success as the people who actually earned it.

Sandbox means that you can try whatever you want to do, not succeed at whatever you try.

I might try the High-sec POCO takeover thing, to get a feel for how structure shooting and takeover is done before attempting it in Low/Null/J-space. If it works, I'd throw the tax at something lower than what Concord's got it right now. Actually, I never bothered to look at what Concord COs are set at, as I rocketed my P0 planet loot into space and just scooped up the can.

The siphon thing sounds like it might be an interesting way to ninja mine moons indirectly, though I imagine that it'd anger whomever you're using it on so you'll need to consider carefully your political alignment before even attempting to get one out there. Depending on how well it works, it might be worth risking consequence for moon goodies. This seems to be the counterbuff to High in exchange for the potential of Low/Null guys taking and taxing our PI: While they're reducing/taking our money, we go and reduce/take theirs.

Depot looks interesting for those who lack Orca/Carrier alts, POS, or Station access. I can see it also being good as an off-grid field base to reload ammo at if you run out in the middle of a fleet engagement, or refit there if the battle situation changed from what the plan or intel suggested. For High-sec... uh... Ok, I got nothing. Any use I can think of there is redundant with either the NPC stations or the myriad of space cans we can build and anchor.

This is a boon to "casual" players.

Don't equate massively online single players with casual players. There's an enormous difference.
