The problem is Somer Blink is an entity in a sand box. It competes with other gambling entities, and in a broader sense competes with everyone. If CCP starts picking favorite entities, it ruins the sandbox for everyone. CCP should stop pissing in the sandbox, a lesson they should have learned from T20.

If CCP gave Goons a few Jove ships (under any pretense, be it for a public charity or w/e), I'd wager you would have a problem with it.

So CCP is spawning seven ships, that's SEVEN (7) ships, to a game that has THIRTY TO FORTY THOUSAND (30,000-40,000) of the things flying around at any given time and probably 500,000 sitting in hangars.

This is cause for a total forum meltdown?

Seven unique ships that are probably worth thousands of "the things" flying around at any time. That totally doesn't give Somer any sort of advantage over the other gambling establishments or anyone else in eve.

Just like giving goons SEVEN (7) Jove battleships wouldn't matter either, right? I mean there are tens of thousands of ships flying around, who would notice?

No. Instead, I suggest the following actions:

Best part about this... these seven (or however many) uber-rare ships that will be handed out in some manner, and then presumably won -- is that just like all the original ships, they will disappear into hangars and NEVER been seen again.

Completely useless "contribution" to the game.

Nice to see that those who don't gamble on such sites are being given a fair chance, too. Awesome sense of fairness there.

Your official party line is that it's not fair that you didn't get any. The other groups you listed already have been given unique ships. BIG, multiple times.

Well that's fine, I'm not here to change your mind. I posted this thread for those who disagree with the arrangement. Clearly, you do not. I wish you the best of luck in the draw. I never knew a handful of silver could be won in a "lucky draw", but hey, enjoy it.

As for small minded, not really. Small minded is sitting down and taking your lumps. If people show they aren't bothered by this particular event, how long until CCP do it again, raising the stakes. Fine, this particular time might not bother you, but what if the next time effected your sandbox experience? I imagine you'd be first to complain.

Not to mention, some people cannot enter the draw, even if they wanted to. As I understand it, they are allowed one account per IP. Now if you have two or more people who wish to draw at that IP, how is that fair? Okay, you can say "life isn't fair, deal with it" and you're absolutely right, life isn't fair. On the same coin, people DO speak out against such things. They are, as you say, "dealing with it".

Of course, I (nor anyone else) can stop anyone from entering the draw if they choose, but I can call upon the community to action this, as an expansion to my original post.

5) When the winners of said ships are made public, eliminate them and their associates with prejudice. How you do that, I'll leave entirely up to you. Shoot them, bounty them, stop trade etc
