Greetings tournament fans!

We will be holding the 5th iteration of the Syndicate Competitive League over the weekend of the 9th & 10th of November! We are still working on tweaks to the rules at the moment, but they should be coming soon!

Captains wishing to submit a team should contact Elendar or me via EVE-mail by midnight EVE time 11 October. This is the deadline for captains/team names as well as your full rosters. Go forth and flood their mailboxes. Be sure to submit as early as possible! Teams that have not provided all required information are liable to not be entered into the random drawing of participants!

More information to follow.

Are there going to be seeded teams in this one or will it be a purely random draw?

Same rules as usual. Top 3 are guaranteed spots, the rest are randomly drawn.

Tourney Tryhards Team Footwork will be in attendance :)

Would be really great to have rules asap so we can tweak our roster appropriately before the cut off :)

Look forward to it!

The Top 4 were seeded last time~

Also I would just like to add that asking us to have a full roster a month in advance without the teams knowing what the rules are going to be ( depending on ship points and the number of pilots per team, people are going to need different characters or more or less people ) is pretty frigging ********. Hell you haven't even told us the number of people that are allowed on the roster yet!

Its different in the AT where you have the full pool of people in an alliance to chose from, but having around 15 people say they are going to be available at X weekend one month in the future with no guarantee that they will actually be participating on that weekend is stupid

It would be really nice to have a set of rules to play with, since half the fun for us is the theory crafting, and I'm guessing tournament fans like to do the same too.

Will bastion module be allowed?
How many points will marauders be?
EAF's cost more points?
HAC's now more points?
Can we anchor a syphon unit to drain power from CCP Fozzie and add it to our own?

The silence is worse than something saying nothing.

And one more question.

Are energy transfers being added back in the mix with a limit of 1 per ship?

I have to echo Faife's statement about handicapping certain ships that are sorta imbalanced / overly nerfed in the format.

For example:

+2 Points for Ishtars + Domis
+1 Points for Gilas, Navy Vexors

And I hope you got the team submission.

Please lower the cost on recon ships. Like what, 0 of them flew in the last SCL?

Just throwing this out there but it would seem that TEST could help organize league events. Quite likely they could provide rules, take feedback, adjust points. I am aware of at least one guy who would like to commentate.

So just sayin' maybe talk to Faife about getting the TEST practice machine involved with keeping the league running smoothly. It seems like a win/win, they are there every weekend anyway. Quite likely if there is something you need they can provide it.

Possibly could add the following handicaps also.

Logi Tengu +1 and Logi Loki +1

It would be nice to run events every weekend or second weekend. Maybe run a group stage one weekend. Maybe do challenger stuff as well. This would give every team a crack at it as well as giving the established teams incentive to stay on top or they have to come back through the challenger bracket.

If getting someone available to run an arena is a problem perhaps CCP can assign a resource every (second) Saturday to keep things whirring. I feel it is in both parties interest.

No Boundaries is putting together a team for SCL5.

With that said, I've got to echo the people above, we need more info on the ruleset SCL5 is going to be using. In particular, what are the changes to ship values, especially things that are getting touched by Rubicon like Marauders? Are HACs or Recons going to see their points value dropped, due to their rarity in the tournament? How many characters are allowed on a team roster?

Regarding the roster, I originally heard 15 people for a team, now I'm hearing 35. If it's the latter, how are we realistically going to determine a decent team roster in this short of a time span? My understanding with SCL4 was that once a team was in, they would then submit a roster a few days before the competition, why do you need them so early?

Hoping we get in, and looking forward to it.

Government shutdowns are fun. Getting a chance to actually sit at the home PC to find it broken is fun too.

Anywho, apologies for not being around. Extending the cutoff for this to 15 Oct @ 23:59. Also after internal discussion, we have decided to increase the max roster size to 35 pilots. Team captains should adjust accordingly. If you have sent me an eve mail I should have replied notifying you of this.

If you have not submitted at a minimum your team name and captain by the above date you will not be entered into the drawing. If you have any questions please eve mail me and Elendar.

Thank you.
