Would have to be Round 3. And even if the RN won, would need also Round 4 to come to a conclusive victor for the series, as Iceland won Round 2 and split-even on Round 1.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

That's be great but there is a 1982 UN Resolution forbidding anything resembling "Sea-Steading".

how the **** do you know that? lol

It came up during a presentation this week on some Billionaire who wants to fund and build a City on the Ocean sort-of-thing.

William Gibson Tweeted about it and someone responded with:

@academicdave @GreatDismal There is zero hope for these guys. 1982 UN Law of the Sea clearly prohibits seasteading.

Which I then Googled and verified.

Just fortunate timing.

Yeah well, it doesn't stop us from buying an aircraft carrier and living on that!

I'd love to bid on that.

But the operating costs would be a bugger.

In the '90s, operational costs on a Spear-class Submarine Tender was roughly US$40K per nautical mile, including crew pay. A carrier, even an LHA or the Ark Royale, would be an order of magnitude higher. At least.
