Marauder Animation

I have seen hints at the animation plans for bastion mode. Personally I see bastion as a defensive mode, so I think the animation should reflect this. All ships should shift their hulls to create a physical shield.

Paladin should get the round mushroom head of the avatar.

Kronos should build on concept art but armor should go completely vertical.

Vargur's sails should rotate and fill out on both sides, possibly retracting neck behind shield.

Golem should fold it's wings forward, plus corps would look cooler coming from the front instead of top then arcing forward.

I don't care how it looks, gameplay is more important, as long as people around it can see it's in bastion mode it's good.

I'm extremely underwhelmed with the Kronos' transformation. No doubt, the others will be similar.

Remind me again why Marauders (who are based off of the Attack battleships) are basically having an entirely new role thrown onto them as "siege" battleships (which probably won't see action outside of a few misguided people PvEing in them)?

Can someone remind me why we needed a super tanked battleship? What particular question does this answer solve?

we only saw 1 pic of it, not the whole video.
there may be several kewl effects around back and whatnot.

dont get me started on the attack bs vs marauder speed. ive made numerous posts on the marauder topic.

i dont want TOO much animation. remember, the rorqual goes into siege and has all kinds of animation, but it also has 5 minutes to get there and back. these only have 1 to transform, show its transformed and back again.

It solves absolutely nothing but the few, tiny voices that were like "we need mini dreads because... uh... because we do, okay?" that I've never really heard.

I'd still have preferred super fast (for a battleship) active tanking logical-extension-of-attack-battleships-into-T2 machines (Perhaps with a module similar to the Bastion but instead with focus on capacitor economy, modern Marauder level tank and agility boosts or something). And it'd fit nicely with the other classes of ship they're rebalancing, interceptors, interdictors and marauders. The first two actually do go fairly fast, so... It'd make some sense.

And if the Bastion Mode transformations are going to stay in this sort of vein, honestly I think they'd be perfectly fitting for the hypothetical super mobility mode here too- there's no air in space so it's not like aerodynamics would be ruined. And the Kronos looks like it's venting huge amounts of heat, which could somehow be handwaved into "somehow making 100MN MWDs work really well".

This solution actually does solve an issue- because now we have a completely new role to play with in Fast Battleships. Not tanky enough to make it in huge fleet slugfests, but definitely enough, to be indispensible in the Guerilla Warfare that CCP has hinted at being possible on the Rubicon feature site. It'd be beautiful.

Considering everything we've seen to-date are crude animations or static images, I think it's a tad early to be crucifying them.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.
