Hmm, was there more than one announcement? That one, I had seen showed not that much of new Content. But a lot of tweaking, that could be done in point releases.
At least nothing thtat deserves to be called "Expansion".

Must have been lucky then when i was there end of august/early september few years ago it was warm and sunny.

Turns out its quicker when you don't make any content.

I kind of have to agree with this. The expansion is very lacking (more so than Odyssey) it looks more like a 1.2 release currently.
I was watching the streaming think "soon they'll announce the big content revamp or addition" it never came.

Now don't get me wrong as I have said in other areas I have mentioned this I do believe it will have a lot of fun stuff and the continued balancing is nice. I just don't see the "theme" they're working on for this release, it's just a bunch of toys and nothing more.


The best part about Odyssey for CCP is that they can now release anything and it will be an improvement. Nothing could be worse than Odyssey - the exploration expansion that ruined exploration.

I guess most people missed the statement that this was only part of the expansion.

Personally I feel the introduction of the first steps in replacing the old POS system to be a huge new feature. Big smile The ability to place these structures where ever you like, independent of celestial objects of any sort, will open up immense opportunities for new game play immediately (let alone after it is fleshed out).

Even the overlooked new warp mechanics will completely change the face of combat, both large and small.

Although it's minor in comparison, I really like the inclusion of a new line of "pirate" faction ships to fly... especially since it is Gallante/Amarr. I'll be interested to see the design of their battleships if/when those are introduced.
