I'd like to get some suggestions on the best ways to get high sec folks to go suspect. On my other account, i've been doing a troll that works ok and gets me some damn funny kills, but I am looking for any and all suggestions on other ways to troll high sec targets to make them go suspect and get kills. thanks

Target-rich environment.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

The only way to make people go suspect in highsec, is to get them to loot a yellow container. To do this you need two characters:

Character #1 is the "evil pirate." The "evil pirate" scans down the missioner in a tech 1 frigate and runs around looting "their wrecks" and taking all the valuable stuff to deprive the mark of their "hard earned" profits.

Character #2 is the "white knight." He rides a fast cruiser and claims he's a pirate hunter. He goes and kills the suspect pirate in the tech 1 frigate. Then he loots their wreck. Being such a nice guy he says "hey man, is this stuff yours" and jetcans the rat goo for the missioner.

The missioner says "thanks man" and grabs the rat goo the white knight jettisoned. Checkmate.

EDIT: Bonus points if the white knight carries around some rare drops that he jetcans as part of the rat goo he allegedly looted from the evil pirate wreck. Makes taking the can more tempting.

Also the white knight cruiser needs a passive targeting system. You want to have the missioner locked while you're explaining to him how to set his safety to yellow so that he can get his stuff back. Maybe he knows what the jig is, and thinks he can loot the stuff while prealigned and warp before you can lock him.

This is outstanding.

Against the sillier prey, you can also just steal from their can, then say 'This stuff wasn't worth stealing, want it back?'

Also, DED complexes are better than missions as they have loot that is more appealing. If you scan down mission bears, they will often have no intention of looting anything - scan down an exploration bear and they will very much want the container at the end.

Very good post sir. So to be clear, passive targeters work on PVP players? what if the player has the 'auto target back' function selected, where if they are targeted they auto target back? It will still not notify them?

Brilliant, just brilliant

I can also confirm that on rare occasions, merely yellowboxing someone in a highsec anomoly or a highsec invaded mission will get them to shoot at you.

Sadly I didn't get time to get on the killmail the time this worked on someone's Navythron a while back. It was a 1.0 system, and CONCORD blapped them before I'd even noticed that my Ishtar was down to 98% shields and could launch drones or shoot them.

There's DED complexes in highsec? Why the heck would anyone want to run those?
