Not exactly an expansion is it?

On Balance it looks pretty good, I like the deployable base idea that can be used at any safespot. There's loads of systems in eve with lots of resources but no stations. POS's are expensive to run and you often cant anchor them as every moon is taken so the Depot gets a thumbs up from me.

I was just looking for more information on the deployable base modules. Is there a thread for those with more details?

I agree 100 percent...

CCP seems to be on to other projects besides EVE and just add enough to keep the current base playing.

If they really put time into this game they would.

1) Add Explorable planets (instead of Dust) by EVE characters. You land on a planet and your Eve toon looks around and shoots or explores.
2) Commerce Hubs where characters can leave the ship and walk into a social setting with other players and chat. Show off the monocle and tight pants. Seeing how it is a social game right.
3) Ship Skins to trick my ride.

Blah,,blah,,, blah....

Log out and log back in in ten years.... you'll find the same game with re-balanced ships and the same NPC's to kill.

Tbh, I was a little underwhelmed by the announced stream as well.

Don't get me wrong, the stuff introduced is game-changing and very interesting and definitely worth its own expansion, it just seemed to be the poorest expansion announcement I've seen CCP do in a while.

Where's the mandatory "expansion trailer" that gets my hyped about the new expansion? What about how light it was on feature pictures and mechanic specifics? I can see how the expansion lays the groundwork for space colonization, but I still feel like we're a long ways from player-built stargates.

It's hardly like I'm going to let my subscription lapse, I just feel like the presentation of Rubicon was sub-par.

EDIT: While reading the features section in the Rubicon expansion page, I noticed the "MORE TO BE REVEALED IN THE COMING WEEKS" disclaimer. While I still stand by my assertion that the Rubicon announcement was poor, this makes me more hopeful.

I imagine that this would be incredibly difficult to implement? I would love every idea. I'd argue most people would - it would be a "perfect" EvE.

But then again, CCP has the framework to do this, but there has to be a reason they've decided against it. They have the perfect graphics engine (it looks better than Crysis 3 FFS) and the playerbase. Yet they quit working on any form of WiS abruptly. What went wrong? I wonder.

Its still a monthish away. They're not going to announce everything at once and even said they'll discuss more as it gets closer. learn patience

Yeah, maybe it'll be like the Marauders thread... What?

Nice lack of noticing the biggest gameplay changer to hit EVE for several years: warp speed acceleration scaling.

Nice lack of whining about the biggest threat to EVE economy for several years: automatic looting (reprocess mass influx of minerals).

Yes, the warp acceleration change will have a huge impact. The auto-looting (while nice) really only applies to low and null-sec.

You do realise that you get very little in the way of minerals from reprocessing meta loot, right? CCP balanced loot-reprocessing twice already.
