SOE ships overpowered

Covops cloak drone assist is a bad idea. You'll have fleets pop out at 200km sniping unpenalized with warpstabs.

EDIT: for the people who don't know what this means, cloaky drone snipers have been a good thing since 2008. Using the drone assist bypasses all penalties from warpstabs and cloak, so your sentries hit stuff from 150-200km 3 seconds after decloaking and assigning them to your tackle.

Now you'll have fleets of these harassing people with no counter by having one ultra fast long range lock ship blapping with sentries from de-cloaking blobs of warpstabbed cloaky ships. These are bombers on high amounts of overpowered steroids.

Revamp drone assist, make it use the assisted ships bandwidth rather than the hosts ships bandwidth

Other than drone assist problems, the SOE ships sound bad ass.

Before you start claiming they are overpowered at least let them hit the test server...

If you would have ran cloaky warpstabbed dominix camps you'd know these are going to be annoyingly untouchable. These will be popping out 200km from fleets, sniping stuff and warping out with stabs as a precaution before anything gets a bearing on them. Every newbie will be doing the BURN EDEN thing and the game will become feminine.

Caldari are shield

And nearly every f*cking pirate ship is SHIELD

I'm glad they gave those of us that specialize in armor a multi-race battleship worth flying. Compared to armor, shield is OP in so many aspects, from DPS to logi support. At least this is one step forward in the armor/shield balancing.

People say "oh shield can't fit ewar compared to armor!" and I say "BULLSH*T!" because nearly all shield ships have enough slots to hold a great shield tank and necessary ewar.

What exactly do you mean by feminine?

These ships imo will be good for the solo player, and I welcome that, too long have solo guys needed alts to scan and scout for them just to get around safely in new eden, the present mechanics of which favour small gangs and fleets. This is step away from that and I think it's a good thing.

Since they're drone-based, it's pretty much a given they'll need to be armor for the additional low slots. Geez people, relax - you haven't even seen the stats... It's something new, and I welcome the new additions (hoping there might be a SoE battleship as well).

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Really?

You mean every newbie who hasn't been running SoE missions for long enough to burn the LP to get one of these ships? Every newbie who can't afford what is essentially a pirate faction frigate or cruiser off the market from people who have? Every newbie who doesn't have max command skills in two separate races?

Or are we talking about some other kind of newbie?

I too think that the problem, if any, would lie with the drone assist mechanic, not with these ships in and of themselves.

lets be honest here, burn eden was one of the few crews who could work ninjya ops with a consistent degree of success. Many have tried to emulate them and the other few skilled crews...and they did not get the same amount of success. Many of these good crews, not overtly newbish. .
