Andski agrees with bears in a post. When that happens, it can't be wrong.

Don't be so blind. They're trying to capitulate over specifics so they can go ahead with their overall plan without people acting so mad about it.

They're not giving out the legacy ships but are still spawning items for an ingame group simply because the devs like them.

Oh, my eyes are wide open, make no mistake there.

My primary concern was them essentially destroying EVE by reintroducing dead and presumed "discontinued" limited ships (given their previous commitment to not re-issuing said ships).

The act of sponsoring does not bother me that much. BIG Lotteries also got sponsored and not many cried foul over that.

The problem I have now is with Somer getting exclusivity to a ship class, but this is not nearly as profoundly wrong as dishonoring EVE history.

CSM STILL REVENANT

...just joking, I guess it was just a case of "People we're going to consult about super important things WHEN WE FEEL LIKE IT."

CCP, there are times when you are doing things really, really, really right. Rubicon sounds great! And then there are times when you really, really, REALLY mess it up hardcore. First T20, then micro transactions and now T20 all over again? I mean, what the ****ing ****? Isn't it enough for 20 pages full of players complaining to you, including two of the most prominent of them all, about you giving exclusive shiny **** to people who don't deserve it? Why do you keep coming up with these horrible, horrible plans?

Yeah, I was going to write something far less subtle but decided to make the post a tad bit nicer sounding just before hitting enter.
I'm glad you were amused though.

What a pile of Shizz!

CCP should should be the ones to give the prizes out even tho i disagree with handing out limited edition ships like the GVex!

Not through a 3rd party site that will make isk from it! bad move CCP!

Rant over

Definitely a bad decision. What's dead should stay dead. What's up with these zombi special edition ships?

On a more serious note, it's bad for the game because it devalues the work of others, it devalues the player stories that have shaped EVE as a universe and it undermines your credibility. If rare 'never to be reprinted' ships suddenly start to be minted again, what's next? Consensual PVP?

CCP, you are essentially destroying the legacy of EVE.

I think this is a bad idea. What is going to happen to the massive amount of ISK generated from these lotteries. Does Blink keep it?
I pretty sure Blink doesn't need more ISK!

If you insist on "un-destroying" unique ships... why not give the ships to "C" and let him do a free lottery draw for everyone.

This has got to be the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. Two things come to mind:

- We already know from history lotteries for ingame items that are different than what everyone else can get is bad. I.e. T2 Lottery.
- Why have a lottery for ships that already exist?

Want to have one for a new ship model, that's still bad, but better. God CCP is ******** sometimes, and why would the CSM even agree to such idiocy.

There is/was always the chance. Earn enough isk and try to convince a holder of a rare item of selling it.

This attitude always gets to me. If EVE were run this way, there would be unbeatable POSes. It is simply not the EVE Online way.

The lottery idea is horrible. I hope CCP puts at least some effort into making sure it is run legitimately.

If they really must hand out new ships and fanfest tickets, then they should just leave the ships in a few special anomalies randomly scattered through high, low, worm and null. Let us go out and find and fight over them.

No Directly enriching one bunch of players at the expense of all others by spawning them items, doesn't matter if it's special ships or 5 tn isk of Veldspar or Sabre BPOs. Don't do it.

As someone who's only been playing for a couple years so far and never got to see either of these ships when they were first introduced, I'm am against the idea of reintroducing them.

Hey guys just give this player-run entity more ISK and you'll have a better chance of winning these things we're having them give away!

Unless you got banned from Blink and can't buy a ticket. Because we totally trust their discretion in banning players from their third party web site. For actions taken entirely out of game. Based on rules they themselves made up. That in some cases are not even listed on the site itself.

It's not just a fanfest ticket, it's an all-expenses paid trip. This isn't a typical promotion, they're promoting the hell out of Blink so that people will buy GTCs and blinks in hopes of getting a ticket. There is no other reason they would even entertain the thought of offering an all-expenses paid trip as a promotion for a bloody fansite.

Seems like a good way to **** all over anyone's desires of owning a collection of rare ships if they just start churning out these "extinct" ships at a whim.
