It's a non-profit blink...

Except for the fact that you have to buy tickets from Blink to get a chance at the raffle. So you're right, besides the billions that Somer is going to make off this raffle, it's totally non-profit Roll

Except they said you can get tickets without paying so you don't have to buy anything...

Except to play the free blinks, you have to have played a blink within the last month.

Edit: I was wrong, it's worse. To play a promo blink you must have played a regular Blink in the past 48 hours. Players who have deposited more than one billion ISK into their Blink accounts are exempt from this rule.

So you have used the site, have isk and/or tokens on the site, and are complaining about having to use the site?

If you think it's the site I'm complaining about, I suggest you re-read my posts on the issue.

I edited my post a little late but the quote from the site should alleviate your specific concerns.

If CCP had released WiS with gambling in stations owned and opperated by CCP
then we wouldn't be having this conversation. SOMER is simply supplying a service
that the player base wanted, a service that CCP was unable to deliver.

Now CCP is actively introducing items (very rare items at that) to their site, they are showing their involvement, no need for a statement.

It does a bit. Granted, there is the possibility he could rig the lottery, but I'm not one of the people who believe that. Now if CCP would just make different unique hulls, we could be all set. Re-introducing old ships that they stated they would never re-introduce is still an issue.

That's a gripe I am fine with. They should have unveiled some new hulls for this.

EDIT: "But we wanted to give folks a chance at these hulls that didn't want to spend any ISK on our site too, so we moved the tickets to "any play" and are rolling any residual profit from this event back to the Vegas event sponsorship"

All the isk made is going to the Eve Vegas live event. So it is no different than every other time CCP gives away free **** to live events. Why haven't you guys thrown a fit all those times?

Well according to him all residual profits going to live event prizes.

So how is this residual profit counted? Will all profit from this lottery after news announcement will be given as prize? Every penny? Then i have no problem.

But the question is - how are we to know if all profits are deposited to prizes and he did it only for attention. CCP clearly said - they will not audit it.

As for others giveaways - they were performed by CCP, and it was petty things, not like this time, when its something that CCP said that they will never do. Also this time its made through third party, which is also ingame corporation, with a lot of vagueness and some lottery that clearly gives option for that same corporation to earn billions of isk. Not to mention that they can just keep prizes to themselves. Not likely, but possible.

Come on, grow up. EVE online is all about being trusting, and being ESPECIALLY trusting when the stakes are higher.

CCP all-but-explicitly endorsing one corporation's lottery scheme is not only a good precedent, but cannot possibly backfire. Heck, a week ago a new guy joined our corp and I gave him immediate access to our corp wallet (has about 20 million isk in it). He hasn't taken a dime all week, so I'm giving him full roles today, on account of having 1) no reason not to trust him, and 2) he said he's willing to inventory our corp hanger of T2 BPOs, something I can't be bothered with.

You realize that the prizes Somer Blink is sponsoring for EVE Vegas are peanuts (seriously, 1B ISK in blink credits to each of the winners and 200M ISK in blink credits to participants, plus a handful of plex) compared to what they're pulling from the spike in microlottery activity from this promotion, right?

CCP have explicitly said that they will not vouch for the trustworthiness of any player, but here they are, running a promotion through a player-run entity!

Up until now, there has never been anyone that has earned CCP's trust.

SOMER has now earned that trust, and must therefore be completely incapable of scamming in any way.

I think the future is looking brighter. Just pray CCP doesn't start vouching for the trustworthiness of goons, you guys will go crazy.

Hey, you look like a trustworthy guy. After hearing your story i decided to join your corp. In order to learn to trust people.

When can i expect full access to hangar full of BPO's?

At least a week. Maybe 8 days. Trust is something that needs to be earned.

Well, unless you promise not to screw us over. I mean, it's a promise.

Fastest track to trust, of course, is to prove to me that CCP has already vouched for your trustworthiness in some way.

Well they didn't ban me yet. So i am clearly trustworthy! And as you can see from my ingame avatar, i am not at all suspicious or shady person.

My 2 cents.

I don't like it. I have a couple of issues with this.

1) It introduces isk into EVE out of "thin air". No time was invested, no content was used. Just rare items and isk will be dropped into the EVE universe to random individuals..

2) reintroduction of rare items will devalue the worth of any existing items and change the 'Lore" of those items.

All in all , this just has a "greasy" feel and PTW* undertones.

IMHO

The Mittani is running a very busy/relevant EVE News Site, so Goons are absolutely eligible to this kind of favours. And don't get me started on Chribba, having put up numerous sites relevant to EVE.
So where does SOMER come from? Who is behind it? Why should they be granted trillions of space moneys?
/edit: Why am I even arguing with one year old nublets? Go away, pretty please? This is for grown ups.
