We had our chance during the Fountain war, but couldn't pull it off.

Now that all hope is lost, our High Command and top FCs are quietly stealing alliance assets in preparation for defection to Goonwaffe. (I heard they'll let you in for 500m, but a director seat is a lot more)

Goons will overrun the map a month after that.

I for one will be among the first to bow before our new overlord, Mad King Mittens.

Sadly, to be sure of their help fufilling your coalition's purpose for being formed you gotta make sure there isn't action convenient located elsewhere other than in front of the steamroller

So as far as you are concerned it would be absolutely fine to lets say bully, mock, degrade a person at every opportunity because they have a different colour skin to you so long as its on the internet.

Gotcha

Since this is obviously a serious concern of yours, I will say that I am a goon who does not care for the racist, sexist, homophobic, or transphobic utterances that are occasionally heard on comms. However, because I am not autistic, I am aware of the context in which language occurs and the intentions of the speaker, and so I am able to perceive that these kinds of comments are not used to express actual racist, homophobic, sexist, or transphobic beliefs, or to actually attack people for their race, sex, orientation, or cis/trans gender identity. They are used as part of a sense of humor that deliberately tries to be offensive as possible, to the point of mocking the words that are used by using them in such a ridiculous fashion. To me, that does not make these comments good or justify them, and I do wish they would stop, but it does make them not nearly as bad as you are trying to make them out to be in your posting.

As in all things, it's necessary to strike a balance or make a trade-off when values come into conflict. I put up with occasional deliberately ironic use of triggering words, which I still believe is harmful and I do not engage in myself, because it's the downside of a culture that is overall vastly superior to the alternative. I mean, do you hear how you pubbies talk? Do you read your posts on these forums? Take, for example, the way you "took issue" in a most contrived fashion with the very matter at hand. You know full well what's going on with the language here, but you strip the facts of their context in a deliberate fashion in order to paint things in a significantly worse light in a breathtaking act of intellectual dishonesty. I would much prefer outright offensive behavior without pretense, than this sort of cowardly linguistic aggression.

Damn forums eat my original post..

Was going to say that trying to defend this kind of language by passing of it as humor is pretty sad.

This often used by bullies in school class rooms.

Bullies often make the most offensive jokes they can making sure their victim can hear them but never directing the joke at them. That way they can use the excuse of "We were just joking and we didn't know they could hear us"

Also why try and insult somebody who is against the use of this language in any context?

Lets give an example.

You are in a airport waiting lounge which is full of people.

There is a group of people using very offensive racist, sexist and homophobic language and they appear to be laughing.

Most people can hear them.

Using your excuse this is fine because it is obvious they are just joking and if people take offense then I suppose they must be "autistic" as you put it.

Also judging by your reaction to my post, i.e calling me "autistic" because you believe using this language is "not as bad" because its humor, I can imagine what the reaction would be if somebody actually did take real offense at what was being said.

Something tells there wouldn't be an apology :)

I am not defending this kind of language. I stated very clearly that I do not like it. I'm only saying that it's not as bad as you are making it out to be. Saying that theft is not as bad as murder is not a defense of theft. Use of ironic racism in comms chitchat is not as bad as an alliance full of people whose names and bios contain numerous white supremacist references, or as bad as a CSM candidate who openly expressed white supremacist views, or as bad as a company that actively suppressed the discussion of either of these matters by people who were concerned about them on its forums. But you were there for that, weren't you? You ate an Eve forums ban for refusing to stop pointing them out, like I did, right? You're not just pretending to care about things like this as a way to bash goons, are you? Right?

Also, I did not call you autistic. I said that because I am not autistic, I am aware of context. A well known aspect of autism is the inability to grasp social context, and I have a tremendous amount of sympathy for people who suffer from this condition. For the record, though, I do not think you are autistic, because if you were, you would not be able to engage in the deliberate context dropping that your concern trolling requires. This same thing, however, is a common feature of "internet autism" exhibited by people engaging in intellectually dishonest context dropping on forums.
