This should be done via an official CCP channel, not blink. It's essentially handing them a couple trillion ISK and there's tons of people who would love an opportunity for these items (unreleased monacle, wtb!) who have no interest in giving the blink people ISK.

Why the Gold Magnate, it has no real special powers. It is legend for one and only reason, that one existed then died. If it isn't legend for that reason no one will care.

No one cares about the Silver Magnate but everyone who plays EVE learns the history of the Gold Magnate at some point or another because of this.

This is disappointing.

I don't care whether old ships are added back into the game. A player-run gambling corporation as the point of origin for the ships is a questionable choice, though. One might ponder why such a corporation is apparently favored by CCP.

We distinguish the excellent man from the common man by saying that the former is the one who makes great demands upon himself, and the latter who makes no demands on himself.

If they are going to do it (which I hope they don't but to be honest it sounds like CCP have already spawned and dished out the ships in preperation) they should do it account wise: 1 account = 1 entry.

Not everyone plays blink, and to be honest I can't stand the idea of it. There are people on the TS channel I use and all they do is carebear on Eve chatting about the billions of ISK they have put into blink and interupt people chatting by shouting "Promo. Promo. Promo." down their mics.

Im still new to Eve (2013 char), and a collector of ships (my goal is to collect every sub capital class ship in the game) and I knew before I started that there was some super rare ships that I would have to grind ISK for and barter price on etc (hell I spoke with Entity for christ sake to find out different ways to go about adding rarer ships to my collection). I understood from the beginning that there was some ships that no longer existed in the game and that actually was fantastic.

Why not create a new ship from concept art or whatever, instead of re introducing a ship that has been destroyed in player created lore (which is what this game is all about right?). The person who lost that Gold Magnate, and the people who played their parts in its destruction, created EVE history and introducing more would diminish that fact.

As for the Guardian-Vexor, it is my goal to have one of those, but if they re-implement these and I get one, I will sort of feel like I have cheated. It might not be one of the originals etc etc. I like the idea of hunting down this rare ship and getting my hands on one, but one that isn't an original one of fifty (I think there was originally fifty?) no thanks...

Edit: Terrible spelling.

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

As one can play this game legally at the tender age of thirteen, any official connection between CCP and an in-game gambling site is, well, not good to say the least.

This is not a signature.

Really, CCP? You're really just going to hand these fantastically rare items out to a player run organization at zero effort cost?

May as well re-seed the T2 BPO lottery while you're at it, at least that lottery wouldn't go through a player run organization.

This exactly ! Why favor one site / organization over another ? Make you wonder, doesn't ? Twisted

But why bother reimplementing and retesting code unused since 2005 when they can let Blink give out the T2 BPOs?

CCP should have never allowed the idea to go through and pass out ships that were suppose to be gone forever. SOMER Blink needs to burn to the ground for even agreeing to this bullshit. I recommend everyone boycott their service. If they don't become more hated than grrr goons, we as a community have failed.
I'm only on this because my main, Tron 3K, is banned till 9/30/2013! Don't give me any likes!

This is the WORST IDEA I have heard from CCP in a VERY LONG time.

Reseeding these rare ship of EVE history - REALLY terrible idea.
(Destroying EVE history)

Making them won by a lottery for some people - EVEN worse idea.
(T2 BPO - anyone?)

Making it though a player held lottery - WORST idea ever.
(Conflict of interest...)

CCP - How was it again that this year "office tour" lottery was handled this year ?
I still have not heard any officially back from it yet ...
You guys REALLY need to take a hard look at this idea, and fix it ASAP...

Does somer blink represent CCP? The answer is probably no. Because that would be against the rules.

But why does CCP gives free items to player organization, rare items at that? How is that different from scandal when some GM was giving t2 bpo's to BOB? That was against the rules, but suddenly its not anymore?

Please explain this to me.

at least mark them so it's clear which ones are fake and which ones are not.

guess CCP can't be bothered to make new ships and skins anymore :(.

Is Somer Blink legit?

http://blinkexposed.blogspot.de/p/fake-players.html

Mostly legit is not 100% legit.

Why is CCP using Somer to distribute exceptionally rare and expensive goodies?

Unless Somer is a part ofCCP, this blatant favoritism of one Eve offline gambling site should seriously stop.

Terrible, just terrible.

Remember guys, there will be cheap PLEX on amazon to cash out and buy more tickets!!!!!

If you want these ships back in the game, add them directly in the game inseatd of through a 3rd party. If you want ships like that to come back in the game, then do it with in-game mechanic. Add lore to Gallente saying they started producing new Protector-Vexor with the technology of guardians and introduce way to earn them in game. You could even put more ships with unique function in the lineup of each 4 empire but no 3rd party lottery.

As for the gold magnate, NO.

I'm adding my voice to say that this is a terrible decision, both re-introducing previously unique ships to EVE, and handing them out to an arbitrarily chosen player organization.

What's the problem?

Let them introduce again those Vexors and Magnates, even Adestrias or Mimirs, the more there will be the more will be destroyed in change of good fun moments.
Except for RMT reasons, I see no point why those shouldn't be available as price in some sort of event like CCP Caravan etc.

"Here's how it works: Any time you play any Blink, you receive 1 ticket to the drawing (even if you buy more than one ticket). Plus, if you win the Blink, you receive bonus tickets based on the size of the Blink."

Hey guys just give this player-run entity more ISK and you'll have a better chance of winning these things we're having them give away!
