The whole zen of these ships is their rarity. They're digital. If you really want a new, limited ship, you can create a new and different one in a day, and let revered ancient artifacts remain scarce.

There's real reasons why your Eve character doesn't do /dance.

If I win the golden magnate by some chance, I will hold an event so it could die once again in a glorious death and a huge ball of fire. It's gone CCP, it should not be revived.

Did this third party lottery thing approach CCP and asked for unique prizes? Or was it some smart-ass CCP dude who decided it will be a "good idea" to spawn some rare ships?

It is your right ofc to give out prizes, but at least give these ships different names from the originals. Like "Gold Magnate MkII" or something.

I don't really care about the prices of rare ships that I will never own fluctuating.

I do care about:
1. CCP going back on their word.
2. CCP releasing more near useless ships into game (gold magnate etc has no benefit over regular magnate).
3. CCP being so lazy as to not just make a few new special edition ships, they have stacks of design ideas from the previous ship design contests, and I'd hope there is at least one person left at CCP with enough imagination to design and spec a new ship.

It's not about their ISK value. That is a side issue.
It's the fact the Gold Magnate has legendary status and reintroducing it is like... Highlander II.

Will it be audited by CCP where ISK go and that all ships will be handed out?

Or in case Somer will not hand over ships to winner, CCP will just say "Welp, we got scammed, no rule against that, good job"?

You just recently changed TOS over this.
And since you are giving the ships, you are endorsing this lottery, thus it represents CCP.

good point, if we are re-releasing limited edition ships, why not do the same with T2 BPOs, or even seed them on the market.?(sarcasm for those not able to grasp it).

The increase in profits from more players using Somer after the exposure from this event could be in the hundreds of billions in the long run, even after factoring in the payouts and sponsorship. In fact I could easily imagine that Somer might make more money in the long run than an entity would from simply auctioning off the ships. Just the fact of CCP giving them their blessing in handing over these ships will (wrongly) convince many players Somer is completely legitimate, that's not to say that they necessarily aren't but this really doesn't prove anything.

Seems a very sketchy move.

Look at the last quote in the OP. They can't be bothered to audit what is literally giving a single player and his friends a half trillion ISK to give away through their lottery. With, of course, the possibility of these things going to their shill accounts that ~do not exist~

Spawn some unused clothes assets or whatever for this thing, but don't give away previously issued limited issue ships, especially not those that are no longer extant.

And regardless, don't have a player-run entity determine the winners of these things. (unless its me of course you can trust me im v honest, it'll go to people I don't know and have never heard of like noted eve personality NotAndski)
