Miasmos ore hold

Can I upgrade the size of the ore hold or is this another one of those ships where ore hold is ore hold?

42,000m3 sounds a lot but I want it for mission mining and most of that is 45,000m3. Considering I'm in a Mac it seems that dock and drop is still the best option even if it is a pain when the site is a jump or two away.

Anyone able to confirm if the ore hold is a static size or can training in Gallente Industrial increase this amount to the 45,000m3 I want/need?

Thanks for your help folks.

Your Gal Indy skill should add 10% per level, for a Max of around 70k (edit maybe abit less like 63K).

No other way of increasing it.

If that's the case then goody. I'll get onto that right away. :-)

Here is the description of the ship:

The Miasmos is an Industrial Ship specializing in certain types of cargo.

Traits
Gallente Industrial skill bonus per level:

10% bonus to Ore Hold capacity
5% bonus to maximum velocity

Development
Aside from being endowed with the usual hauling capabilities of Industrials, the Miasmos possesses an extra cargo bay. That bay is equipped with sealed, temperature-controlled vats, and is meant solely for ferrying all types of interstellar ore: ice, gasses and asteroids. The Miasmos was originally designed as a variant of the Iteron, but eventually evolved to perform an entirely separate role.

Huh? Interesting.

I have just completed Gallente Industrial skill level 1. With no modules whatsoever I have an ore hold of 46,500m3.

I must have trained something else that gives that. That's cool though because that's more than enough for my needs.

Yeah I missed the "per level" bit and only read the 10% bonus bit.

With Gallente Industrial V, I get 63.500 m³ on mine (I think, I'm at work at the moment, but definitively more than 63K).

Once more, training to Industrial skills to 5 really pays.

Gallente industrial is the only skill that affects it. It increases the orehold size by 10% per level trained. If you train it to II, less than an hour train, you should be over 50k

The fact remains that the ship is underwhelming. It has the same size orehold as its sibling has mineral hold... now the truth is last time I mined it was 2005, just after the Athens Olympics but I do recall minerals being a lot smaller than ores... or is that justme?

Raw ores do take up a lot more space than refined minerals, true. But the Miasmos can fit beautifully into a mining scheme for newer players organizing an industrial fleet. And even in higher-skilled fleets, the Miasmos can relieve an Orca of hauling duties, allowing it to stay on field and maintain its bonuses instead of having to leave the fleet when its holds are full. At under a million ISK, the Miasmos looks to me to be magnificent value for the money.

I think it's 67.5k or something. And you're correct, there is no modules or rigs that can increase the ore hold size further. There is no options to do so.

Just jumped in mine to check, with Gallente Industrial 5 you get 63.000m³ of Ore Hold ... and 550 m³ of standard hold, for mining crystals and things like that.

Definitively a good addition to a mining fleet, can haul a jetcan (and more) even with Gal Indus 1, allows the Orca to stay on-site and boost the miners, AND fits in the Orca's ship bay.

Can be armor tanked easily, or use the MWD+cloak trick, or even fit a tractor and salvager for those pesky belt rats wrecks (that you kill with your Orca's drones), etc.

Great added value for the ISKies for industrial types.

This, it has lots of uses, and one does not need to sacrifice hold capacity to tank it.
I tried an easy fit on it, nothing fancy at all bar some low meta mods, not even a T2 or a rig; I could even say I botched the job.
Mid: adaptative hardener, EM resist amp, 2 X medium shield extenders
Low: DC, reactive (anti-BOOM) membrane, 2 X 400mm plates
Result: 11500 EHP
Quite nice for the cost.

By the way, can the miasmos hold compressed ore, did someone try to verify it ?
