And OMG i have never experienced so many "Pro" players as in those matches. Big smile
I have been called a Noob at least 6 times, a moron and many other quite amusing rage posts have gone thru in the team chat.

And i find myself comparing it to EVE, in the few fleets i have been in none has called me a Noob for doing something wrong.
Instead in a calm manner it has been explained to me what i could have done better, in World Of Tanks i was berated a full two minutes cause i thought i was a better scout than i was.

I have been yelled at for capping (taking the flag), i distracted 3 heavy tanks long enough so that some mediums and a tank destroyer could get into position and got called a noob by one in my team once the heavy tanks managed to kill me.
Funny things is that most that sit and yell about moron teams and such are those that have been killed way before me, i guess that is the only moment they have time to sit and write..

I got that as well.

I kept a basic list of those people and then went out of my way to screw with them if I ever matched with them again.

I just have fun and could care less what they said.

As a DotA player, I know how you feel. I used to take it to heart for some dumb reason, but now I just laugh it off because those people are hilariously dumb to me.

One of my favorite memories is of some guy cussing me out for not running in to save him even though he was all alone surrounded by an entire enemy team and I wasn't even close to him to begin with. I replied (and this was literally the first thing I've said all game) "well, keep blaming me because im sure that will help us win" to which he replied "dude ur such an a-hole." I just threw my hands in the air and started cracking up because I felt that was the only appropriate reaction.

Online gaming (and the internet in general) has given rise to this disgustingly toxic attitude of "I don't have to act like a decent person because there's no consequences." It's kinda depressing at this point, but there's not much we can do.

God, League of Legends was straight terrible... after making silver I straight quit, the crowd is degrading, the grind is degrading, it wasn't even me most of the time, just what the community does to people that aren't lucky.

More Character Customization :: Especially compared to what we had in 2003...

I guess the crowd in Mechwarrrior is just as bad. My friend had been in alpha for a time and even bought a commanders pack, then left for a little while. When he came back about a month ago I guess people assume he was some badass because he had the commanders title. Then he lost hardcore and from what he said, his team was downright violent and abusive to him. It's so bad that it has apparently been making headlines on game news sites.

I ran into so much of that in LOL that I played three times and uninstalled it from my rig.

I also ran into that when I joined Faction Warfare and stayed in it for only a few days.

Man, I hate that crap.

I love WoT.. one time I was the evil arty on the teamand my last teammate had the last enemy tank immobilized and was circling him. So I lined up my perfect shot and let loose from across the map.

The shot was a direct hit and the tank was destroyed.

Then the enemy tank thanked me and came after me Sad

Well, at least he was kind enough to 'thank' you!

What line are you running? I gave up arty. Requires too much patience. Roll

There used to be a time ages ago when most people were decent folk, however the Xbox live generation grew up and brought their attitudes into every other game (not saying I'm not a part of that group, but some of us are actually more level headed than others).

WoT-Logics:
- If you attack fast, you are a noob and worse...if you attack slow and cautious, you are a lazy camper sitting on your a**.
- The team is always a noob team when defeated, but also when winning.
- Someone says "no cap plz" = *everyone rushes to cap, getting shot and smacktalk comes in*
- regardless of how you play, you're always being "reported"

Reminds me of BF3 whenever I am in a Zeus or MBT.

Scores of kids screaming at me to move forwards from where I am shelling the enemy into a deathtrap where 4 of our other tanks just got wiped out.

And if you had you would be called a **** driver for getting your tank destroyed.

There has always been bad sportsmanship, but there hasn't always been voice chat. I used to see some gamers do this in rl back when it was just them yelling at a screen and occasionally doing some furious typing between spawns. Some where old, some were young, some were leet, some weren't. Either way they were just foul when playing games with other people even if they were alright folks in person. I think the difference these days is that they tend to gravitate to communities where mods tend to allow people to behave like toxic @$$hats.

It reminds me of the late 90s, when we would go to LAN-parties with friends and play CS, Q3 or UT.
We had a hot-blooded in the team that often cussed and insulted us whenever a careless grenade or or spam missile would send us waltzing around. Strangely, he would be stabbed or otherwise headshot on the following respawn. He had more death from friendly-fire than enemy fire, but kept playing with us somehow.
