The SA forum suggest to lurk for about a month before you start posting to be sure you actaully understand the rules before you go and have to burn another ten bux to get your account unbanned. This cut down the sexist, racist and homophobic language quite a bit.

TMC comments don't seem to be moderated much from what I see unless someone is a repeat offender on the same discussion. There is much more player trashtalking than there is usage of the mentionned language.

No info on goonfleet.com but I would think the moderation is close to that of SA.

I think generally goons don't care about the tmc comments, though some posting superstars (and the moderators) will dive into that terrible pit. It's even worse than eveo general discussion, which say a lot

I used to expect better from eveo general discussion as well.

Initially the standard of commenting was fairly reasonable and the comments were pretty heavily moderated.

One is tempted to wonder whether TMC's policy of heavily promoting their aticles on Reddit had any correlation with the decline in comment quality.

Homophobic and racist slurs are used by generally intelligent and well intentioned people IN GAME in an ironic way for the purpose of humor and morale. An FC might tell someone they aren't aligned, including that they are a worthless mass of faeces with questionable sexuality, the pilot referred to can retort with a short counter accusation without shoiting up comms too much.







No they don't. There is nothing generally intelligent or well intentioned by being homophobic or racist.

If nothing else, our language (english) excels at having a huge arsenal of insults to choose from.
