Help me mission!

Greetings Pilots. I've primarily spent my time mining etc. I would like to start running missions. Can someone please take a look at my skills and give me an idea as to what the best ship for me would be at my current skills. I eventually want to get into a raven or cnr but working up the missile skills. Just need some guidance as to what ship I should fly and what level missions I should stick to for now.
My pilot

Thanks!

Caracal - Lvl2
Drake - Lvl3
Raven - Lvl 4

Work on your missile, cap and evasive manuevering skills.

Use RLML(Rapid Light Missle Launchers) for Caracal with a passive tank until you get your cap skills trained up, it should be sufficient for most Lvl2s.

You have a solid start on the support skills. You could also use weapon upgrades/adv weapon upgrades, signature analysis, long range targeting, target painting, capacitor management, and capacitor systems operation. And of course lots of training in missiles.

Maybe start with a Caracal with rapid light missile launchers for level 1 and 2 missions and then move up to a HML drake for level 3's and eventually to a Tengu or Raven for level 4's.

Stupid question, but would it be better if I fitted the weapons I would use on a Caracal on a better hull for added tank since my shield skills are fairly high?

It depends on what missions you are doing, cruisers lock stuff faster and move faster than battlecruisers and you can get to the V skill faster, and due to the way they've since split the BC skill up (it used to be cross race), I'd have to say the cruiser skill at V is more important and useful to the average pilot - so you'd expect until you've had a lot of training time to have more hull bonuses from cruisers.

Get EFT or PYFA and EVEMon, these will help you make your choices.
Study EVE-Survival, it will help you understand missions.

If you look at the Caracal not only is it faster and locks quicker than the Drake, it also has a bonus to the rapid light missile launchers. When you get EFT or PYFA you will see that on paper the DPS for a HAM Caracal is higher than the RLML version, the thing is the damage application of the RMLMs is significantly better than the HAM Caracal when most of the NPCs on the field are frigates(LVL 2s). When you step up to LVL 3s then a drake makes more sense as the damage application required is mostly for cruisers and the occasional battleship as well as the fact that incoming DPS will also be higher.

Maybe start out with something like this:

[Caracal, LVL 2s]

Beta Reactor Control: Shield Power Relay I
Cross-linked Bolt Array I
Cross-linked Bolt Array I
Cross-linked Bolt Array I

Experimental 10MN Afterburner I
Medium Shield Extender II

Remember to learn connections and security connections to be stuck in lvl 2 and 3 as short as possible (they give almost no money). With those skills lvl 1s can be skipped entirely. Decent money can be made only from lvl4s concentrate on reaching them as soon as possible. experiment with EFT and known npc damage output.

If you're running level 1's in a Caracal you're going to stomp them.

When you're doing level 1's and 2's an omni tank is fine but when you're getting to level 3's or higher you'll want to fit a tank for the incoming damage type. A good site to look up that and triggers is Eve survival

No problem. You'll find the Eve community mostly helpful with a touch of evil sprinkled in lol. If you shoot me an email in game I can send you some basic fittings. It won't be till later tonight though because I'm away from my computer and on my phone.

Well, good luck, OP.
After browsing through your corp history, killboard and eveboard you seem trustworthy enough.
I'd totally offer to run level 4 missions with you in my ridiculously expensive officer fitted Nightmare- but I am afraid I don't have one.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Eh? I must be missing something. I purchased the pilot a while back. I don't pvp or go around killing anyone. Not sure where this is heading. Most of my army buddies I played with quit so looking to do something else other than mining.

Yea not sure where that guy was going either. Same here army in RL and most of the people I originally played with quit. Missions can be boring too

Well hey ty for your service! Spent 14 glorious years in the socom community. Then when they stuck me in conventional army and I couldn't put my hands in my pockets anymore.... I told them to go **** and put in my packet lol.
As to the comments I really am curious....like I'm going to come after you with my orca....although that would be funny!
I'm just looking to get advice as to the ship I should be in based of my current skills.
