At least you've got time to shoot afterward. If it went your way (guessing here) it would take 30 seconds up to a minute before the transformation is complete and you can enjoy your new shooting capabilities, pod.

I was depicting it in the mind like this: engines, antennas and protruding hull parts in certain parts would move and armor plates emerge and we would have turtle like structure. :P

Heh, those linked in OP look pretty lame. Considering what bonuses bastion will give to marauders I imagine animation be more like going from ship to big frikking Dirty Harry's magnum 44 or sth not just popping up the hood or setting sail on varg :) On the other hand those can be as well fakes just to troll and tease us more.

Regarding what Malcanis keeps saying about balancing and fixing what is broken instead of adding new stuff that could only extend broken things list - it is great for ships balancing nobody says otherwise. It shouldn't be only canes and rifters in space after all :)

But what they did with exploration was not fix of not working feature, it was downgrade. Yes it is more accessible and everybody can go into it very fast and easy but amount of bugs they introduced in the process was quite disturbing. Of course every line of code is frakkup waiting to happen, everybody dealing with code knows it but some of those issues were pretty basic and community discovered it within moments after release. So what, nobody during internal testing noticed issues with scan results?

What I find very lacking is nobody says anything about what is happening in development of all backend things that now are showstoppers for new features and must be finished before anything visible to players can be done. I don't want NDA things exposed or promises or anything like that. I really would like to read that somebody is working on X and that X will make possible for use to have features A, B, C and it will improve current feature D. Like for example Brain In The Box, what happened with it, how far away we are to see it in patch notes at some point? Or those modular POSes, what is a problem really with it? Meaning I would like for devs involved in those projects share something about problems they have to deal with to make things done. More like developer diaries than feature reports we see in devs blogs. Like those pieces we got some time ago about hardware Eve is running on, that was great to read.

Eh, it seems I drifted a little, sorry.

Please CCP...theres so much you can be doing!

They're not an either/or.

Sorry you find the balance changes "boring". Those of us who have years ago passed our boredom threshold waiting for glaring ship imbalances to be corrected are happy as hell to see them corrected and the number of genuinely viable ships available to fly massively increased. We find the prospect of hugely increased diversity, with new fleet doctrines and new gang tactics and new solo opportunities pretty god damb exciting.

EVE is a spaceships game: if the spaceships don't work, nothing else works.

today you fly ship X
tomorrow Eve Expansion happened and you started to fly ship Y

great expansion! Totally new gameplay!

Wormholes? SOV? Fw? Incursions? Nobody wants this. What really needed is ship rebalance! Big smile

Hint: Eve Online is bigger that Counter-Strike or Battle Field. Changing one weapon/ship can make totally new gameplay in FPS but not in such complex Universe we have here

The obvious implications that proposal 1 was well received and proposal 2 is universally disliked and is no longer being discussed is that CCP intends to implement iteration 2 so marauder users stop using them.

I guess that rendering unusable the most characteristic PvE ship class haves some kind of long term implication... but i'm not going to think about it yet.

Well... and this is just a theory you understand...

But if the Marauders will transform into this bastion mode. My theory is that enough bastions "transforming" together will connect to make something even bigger..

Like say a giant version of CCP Guards face and lay waste to all its enemies from its laser eyes.

If you do manage to destroy this Godly visage then it will drop a unique item, a captured CCP Guard who was left floating in space akin to the Haldor video.

I'm seeing a Cancellation marker on the Calendar for CCP notices, this one concerning the "Winter Expansion" broadcast set for the 26th.

Or maybe it's a glitch.Question

Or, mayhaps speculation will need to run wild for a long while yet.... or there's nothing to announce (yet).

Or, put another way:

"Chaos Effect", it's what happens to game companies when senior devs leave. Roll

Malcanis, there's no need to be condescending. I don't see the "obvious implications" because I have a life outside this game. You being a CSM have a vested interest in knowing what's going on. Being elected, you also have a responsibility to be our representative between CCP and the gaming masses.

But you don't have to be a douchecanoe.

I would rather see a more Robotech like transformation. The SDF Macross transformation is what I have imagined for a dreadnought in siege mode. For Marauders more like the Veritech Fighter going into Guardian Mode.

I wondered about the implications of what is essentially a mini siege dread when the thread came out. All I came up with was a form of highsec sov.

not sure i am happy with those bonus.

we already have two lasor pirate factions.

but we do not have any rail gun platforms. (the bonus for serp ships are more inline with blasters then rails)

personally

i would like to see something like:

role bonus: 50% increase in small hybrid turret range

gal bonus: 5% to small hybrid turret rate of fire per level

amarr bonus: 4% to armor resistance per level

Here we go again.

Let's start with what we know.

Marauder Rebalancing - source

Marauders get a new stationary mini-siege mode enabled via the new Bastion Module. Bastion Mode:

- Increases shield and armor repair amount by 100%
- Extends all large turret falloff and optimal by 25%
- Increases all large missile max velocity by 25%
- Has a cycle time of 60 seconds.
- When in bastion mode, Marauder is immune to EW but cannot be remote assisted in any way
- When in bastion mode, Marauder speed is set to 0 m/s, mass is increased by a factor of 10, cannot warp. Also receives a weapons timer that prevents station docking or gate jumping.

Also Marauders will get a reduce Micro Jump Drive cooldown, so that it matches the cycle time of Bastion Mode.

Each of the ships will also get reduce drone bays and other balancing changes, see the link above for details.

Bastion mode will get some nice animations, these are starting to emerge now.

Target Painter changes - source

Cycle time reduced to 5 seconds.

Hi sec player owned customs offices

Unconfirmed, article on the The Mittani is speculating on it. Expect Customs Office Gantrys and P4 prices to head steeply northwards...

Also a new skill is on the way called Customs Code Expertise - Expertise in cutting through the red tape of customs regulations. Reduces Import and Export empire tax in Customs Offices by 1% per level

Rapid Heavy Missile Launchers - unconfirmed

Speculation at present, but looks like they are on the way.

Datamined image

Data mined corpse models

Again, speculation at present, but perhaps looting of implants from corpses?

New Amarr/Gallente Faction/Pirate Frigate - unconfirmed

Special Ability: 100% reduced CPU need for Cloaking Devices
Amarr Frigate Skill Bonus per Level: 10% bonus to Small Energy Turret optimal range and capacitor use
Gallente Frigate Skill bonus per level: 10% Bonus Damage to Drone and hitpoints per Level

Can fit Covert ops cloaks

You may have missed a few things from the russian forum...

1. Shattered capsule models (speculated as wreck to recover implants)

2. Mobile Shipping Unit (A container with internal transportation mechanism. Used for quick shipments of low-volume items .

3. Cyno disrupter (mobile).
