Here we go again.

First up an absolutely fantastic bit off lore analysis that everyone should read.

I got excited reading that. Looks like the new expansion could open up some kind of new space for us to explore (just guessing)?

Lets move onto the new Sister's of Eve ships, which are supposed to be great for exploring.

New Sister's of Eve Ships - source

So far we have the Frigate and the Cruiser annouced officially. Both are Amarr/Gallente faction ships with bonuses to Drones, Lasers, Scanning, Hacking and Armor resists. Oh and they can fit Covert Cloaks. They are going to be very good.

- Astero - Frigate
- Stratios - Cruiser

There is speculation that there will be a Battlecruiser (perhaps called Echephron?) and Battleship (called Nestor?). Some think that the Battleship may have a special ship maintenance bay making it excellent for exploring 'away from home'. I can't wait to see this one!!

Marauder Rebalancing - source, pictures credit to Sarmatiko

Marauders get a new stationary mini-siege mode enabled via the new Bastion Module. Bastion Mode:

- Increases shield and armor repair amount by 100%
- Extends all large turret falloff and optimal by 25%
- Increases all large missile max velocity by 25%
- Has a cycle time of 60 seconds.
- When in bastion mode, Marauder is immune to EW but cannot be remote assisted in any way
- When in bastion mode, Marauder speed is set to 0 m/s, mass is increased by a factor of 10, cannot warp. Also receives a

weapons timer that prevents station docking or gate jumping.

Also Marauders will get a reduce Micro Jump Drive cooldown, so that it matches the cycle time of Bastion Mode.

Each of the ships will also get reduce drone bays and other balancing changes, see the link above for details.

Bastion mode will get some nice animations, these are starting to emerge now.

We will be able to see these all on the Test Server on 7th October.

Target Painter changes - source

Cycle time reduced to 5 seconds.

Hi sec player owned customs offices - source

Players will be able to freely shoot at the existing Interbus Customs Offices in hi-sec, then replace then with their own. A War-dec will be required to shoot at the player owned ones once they are up. Players will be able to set their own tax rates in hi-sec. Expect carnage near Jita..

Also a new skill is on the way called Customs Code Expertise - Expertise in cutting through the red tape of customs regulations.

Reduces Import and Export empire tax in Customs Offices by 1% per level

Warp speed changes

Acceleration to top warp speed will now be faster for ships with a faster overall warp speed. Taking a typical example, a 5 AU warp would take all ships about 32 seconds in the current version (not including aligning). In Rubicon, an interceptor will do it in 10 seconds, a cruiser 32 seconds, a battleship 47 seconds and a freighter 69 seconds.

Warp speed rigs will be widely used post-patch. An Interceptor with 2 Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer II rigs will do the above warp in 4 seconds!

Interceptor changes - source

Interceptors are now immune to warp bubbles! Combined with the warp speed changes below interceptors are going to very very fast. With those two changes, they only need a few tweaks and they will be awesome.

- Lock ranges increased for all.
- Cargo greatly reduced to prevent so that fitting a cyno will gimp your fit.

- Crusader (Combat) - similar with more fitting.
- Raptor (changes from Tackler to Combat) - heavily changed to be like a shield Taranis.
- Taranis (Combat) - not changed much
- Claw (Combat) - damage beefed up a little, much more power grid

- Malediction (Tackler) - -1 High slot, +1 Low slot
- Crow (changes from Combat to Tackler) -1 High slot, + 1 Mid slot
- Ares (Tackler) - not changed much
- Stiletto (Tackler) - not changed much

Electronic Attack Frigates - source

- All get better ranges on their E-War
- All get much more lock range
- Don't forget that as Frigates they will warp around much faster too.

New Command Ship Models - source

- Absolution becomes a Carthum Harbinger
- Eos becomes a CreoDron Myrmidon
- Nighthawk becomes a Kaalakiota Drake
- Sleipnir becomes a Boundless Creations Hurricane

Pretty screenshots

New Certificate System - source

Nice new certificate system. Hopefully it will make the skill system a little less bewildering for new players.

Direct X11 Support - source

This one has slipped under the radar, but will have been a lot of work I think..

New Bubble Graphics

Mentioned by CCP Fozzie it looks like we will be getting new bubble graphics in Rubicon. I personally hate the existing ones, so thats good.

Data mined corpse models

Speculation at present, but perhaps looting of implants from corpses?

Image

New Deployable Structures

Siphon Unit - Image

Anchorable outside a POS shield, it will siphon off reaction or moon minerals. Lootable by anyone.

Depot - Image

Effectively a mobile home, with reinforcement mechanics. Also has re-fitting service and storage. Who needs a POS in a wormhole now! And how useful to explore this 'new space' we might be getting!

Mobile Cyno Jammer

70km-100km range deployable cyno jammer. This is going to change capital fights a LOT.

Portable Salvager

Deployable salvager/tractor beam/looting device. Will make mission running much more profitable.

I remember CCP talking about dividing the BLOPS class in two types of ships, with two ships for each faction.
Bridge capacity and combat worthiness.
And something about velocity under cloak bonuses being dumb.

I'll guess ship rebalancing.
Iteration on exploration profession sites.
Some feature that sounds awesome, that they'll run out of time to finish, and it gets released half-assed and useless, with promises about future iteration.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

I have it on good authority that the Rifter will be buffed with an extra rack of utility slots (called Utility Slot (B) or USB for short).

Presumably this extra utility is intended to make the Rifter competitive with other T1 frigates again. Smile

Jokes aside, as always thanks for your efforts.

getting bored with balance changes and all these artificial "features" ...
I hope we get actual features...like a proper expansion....most MMOs would classify these as patches. (Granted, our expansions are free)

Not yet.

But I am in the mood for speculation tonight.

I would speculate that they will introduce player owned Customs Offices in Hi-sec, and lower the tax rate. This will give us the ability to make a lot of planetary materials more cheaply than before.

And what are Planetary Materials used for? Building POS and POS modules.

So I would guess they will be introducing a load of these, and that the increased production of PI materials will be offset by increased demand for them produced by building these new modules.

This would all fit with CCP Seagull's presentation last year too. Maybe we will even be able to build a Stargate from the huge pile of PI materials... Big smile

I don't see the highsec player owned custom offices. As it was a Soundwave/Goonswarm nerf highsec thing.

With him and a few other notable GSF devs (sorry, but it's true!) leaving for greener pastures. (Hey, good for them!) There will be a shift towards a friendlier noob friendly EVE Online. CCP wants subscriptions now, not sociopaths.

If you look at the past few years' expansions, all they've been is a fix of old broken stuff made too look like an expansion.

Find an old mechanic that's been broken for years, throw it in a paperbag with glitter and candy with a few ships balanced. Give it a trailer, BAM! Expansion!

I'm going to lean towards a complete overhaul of Industry across all areas of the game.

It'll affect ALL of us, and it's literally the first expansion that's going to have devs explain it live on it's own "show" and hope we understand and not riot...

My predicion is that CCP will add extensive undocking animation just like the wonderful gate animation that you cannot turn off. That way you can enjoy undocking in tidi and lag just as much as you can enjoy going thru gates in the game now. Since CCP apparently doesnt play test their game any more it only makes sense to add wonderful new features like this to the game to increase lag and cause players to quit their game. Features that you cannot turn off.

Thank you CCP for thinking of players like us in your efforts to improve this game.

I don't see POCO's working in HS to be honest. All the big null alliances will swoop through HS and take ownership and push up export taxes to further control the markets.
