Dev Blog: A Time Capsule full of Memorabilia

Good afternoon Capsuleers!

This afternoon we have a Dev blog from CCP SoxFour, who has been working on a number of the collectible digital items that will be going into the EVE Second Decade Collector’s Edition.

Designed to reflect and celebrate major events in EVE Online’s first decade, this time capsule of EVE Online memorabilia will be included with every EVE Second Decade Collector’s Edition.

Eh, pretty much. Nifty! But y'know.

Please don't let Marketing run away with this 'mystery code' idea and give too many advantages/perks/buffs to buyers of the CE pack. And I say this as one of those purchasers.

Cool, these are worth a chuckle or two, but they will sit in my collection gathering dust. I just hope the mystery code is something really special, I mean the in game stuff has been nice, but I have either sold it off or tossed into my collection. The only real thrill I have gotten from them is from the ones I have sold off, because I could afford to advance my plans.

Anyways the digital content was not why I bought the collectors edition to begin with, for me it is the ultimate souvenir from the 10th anniversary fan fest, the digital content is the fringe bonus. Some of the digital content I am looking forwards to, like the golden pod, tested it out on SISI and I like it. Also the magnate is going to get parked in my collection, the gnosis BPC will prolly be hidden deep in my collection as well and never will see any real use.

The clothes ill will decide when I see them, but I am not sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see if they are anything special or not. Based what is in the game right now clothing wise, I dont have high hopes that the clothes will be anything worth while, right now the only clothes that would look worth getting are the ishukone shirt and the silvershore greatcoat, and they are only for male characters so getting them for a female char would be a waste of isk. Still will enjoy the isk I will get from selling the stuff I have no use for.

Maybe somebody could take responding to players feedback in different parts of forumz as his/hers side project instead of spawning useless crap? But no, for keeping comms with community open and active you are too busy.

Most interesting part of this article was the quote " I have been working hard on DUST 514". So, how many former eve online developers are now working on dust?

I do work on both games. Working at the Icelandic office is a great spot for that. :D

One thing currently kinda detracts me from buying either the promo pack or the CE.

I have three accounts. But I am one physical person.

I would like to get items for all three of my mains, but doing 150 X 3 is just not something I can justify.

However, what I could justify is if I bought 3 Promo packs and was able to use all the certs to redeem for one collectors pack.

That way each of my three chars got the digital items and my one physical person got the one physical items...

Since that's not likely to happen I will just wait till December when you guys release things in the Christmas store.
