I couldn't help notice that you haven't made any allowances for the children of Federals killed by the Tribals in Colelie. Was that an over site or by design?

I appreciate the concern that you are showing for the orphans of the Federation crews that lost their lives in Colelie and at the time of the announcement, the Order had weighed the options and it was decided that, due to the limited funds possessed it would perhaps be best suited to make the offering to aid the Republic. With the donations that have been offered and received to date, it is worth re-visiting the situation and donate funds to aid the Federation's support network.

Again, thank you for showing concern in the activities of the Order, Mr. Syagrius. Though, I am curious, if you are that concerned, why has Stillwater not stepped up to the plate? I merely ask out of my own curiosity.

A Progress Update:

Again, I still have some people that I need to reach out to with regards to offers of aid/support/donations. I apologize that I have not been as quick to respond as other issues have left me with little time. That said, I will be getting in touch with people over the next couple of days.

To date, the Order has already set aside the 30,000,000 ISK it promised. This, coupled with donations already received, the Order can report that there is currently a total of 380,000,000 ISK now set aside for this project. Once locations have been selected, facilities will be constructed. Staffing for the facilities will of course be handled by the Minmatar as well as the day-to-day operations including education, counseling, and other needs. The funds will be used to help provide all the necessities along with any additional training needed by the staff.

Again, thank you to those that have already donated to this cause.

Which brings me to another point that some of you may have already heard about.

Silas Vitalia had offered a 'donation' of several orphans that she had come across. I accepted the offer and she set forth a set of conditions regarding how this would happen. Without pulling up the actual communications involved, these were the conditions:

  • A Bestower-class industrial with the orphans would be placed in a location in Khanid space, the exact location would be provided at the time of delivery and that the Bestower would be pre-fitted with warp-core stabilizers to aid in the return flight from low-sec to high sec.
  • I would be required to fly to the given location, abandon the one ship and board the Bestower
  • I was to come alone and I was not to pull any tricks; if I did not, then Lady Vitalia promised to personally destroy the Bestower and all onboard the ship

Now, having spoken with some people, I was warned to expect a trap while others were a little more hopeful. Regardless, I felt an obligation to see this through so I agreed to the terms in writing and did indicate that the warp-core stabilizers would be required.

Two days ago, Lady Vitalia contacted me to inform me that all was in place and gave me a general location to travel to. I traveled out there in a basic frigate and upon arrival in system, I received the exact location of the Bestower and instructions to communicate with her once I was on the vessel and had confirmed the nature of the cargo. Upon arrival, I found the Bestower and on initial check, it was the only vessel at the location.

Leaving the frigate, I docked with the industrial, verified that the orphans were in fact in the cargo hold and informed Lady Vitalia that all was good; this is also about the same time that I noticed a lack of warp core stabilizers on the ship. A Proteus-class cruiser de-cloaked, had the Bestower scrammed and destroyed the frigate then turned guns on the industrial, hulling the ship in three short volleys.

To wrap up it all up, she then toyed around with my warp scrammed pod asking that I beg for mercy and how much I thought my life was worth. Apparently she grew bored with the whole thing and turned off the scrambler and told me to leave.

Unfortunately, none of the orphans survived the destruction of the vessel.

Now, I have spent the last two days trying to figure an appropriate response to this event. On the one hand, it will be said that I should have known better and that it was an elaborate trap for the amusement of a bored capsuleer and that I should not be so...aggrieved by the event. On the other hand, I gave my word and my honor and upheld my end of the arrangement only to have it manipulated and mocked for hoping that the other side would keep their word on an agreed upon contract.

I have spent much time deliberating my next course and I have been cautioned about doing anything to letting the whole event go and move on. I understand where the concern and advice is coming from and I know some will disagree with the action I am going to take, but I have not been one to always follow the conventional path.

It is said that each knight must have a dragon to slay, it would seem that I have been shown my dragon.

Lady Vitalia, you are, from your own actions, the very antithesis of what I believe and hold dear. Know that I am going to hunt you down and extract a modicum of justice for what you did to those children and to all of those you have slain or ruined for the sake of your own amusement. I am not after your holdings, your power base, or your followers, I will be coming for you and you alone.

Steffanie, if I can be informal, you are giving Lady Vitalia precisely what she always wanted when she hatched this scheme.

Whilst I understand your anger, respectfully, you must have had a strong inkling that this would happen, going in. Whilst it might be considered perfectly acceptable to risk your assets and your crew to save innocents, it is debatable that Lady Vitalia would have slaughtered the orphans out of hand without your participation. It is, in fact, entirely likely she sourced them specifically

You should have had a plan to deal with this eventuality or you should have refused to participate.

I would advise taking this as a life lesson. If you attempt to hunt her, it is more than likely that she will prevail.

Typical blood raider cowardice.

Ms. Saissore, these events have convinced me that you are a trustworthy recipient of my donations. Expect some ISK coming into your account shortly. I'm on deployment so I can't offer much, but it should be enough to cover some basic costs.

While I want to purge this filth from the cluster as much as you do, I would advise against pursuing her. This is exactly what she wants, for you to lose focus on your goal and focus on her. The money that would be going to aid the children will be squandered on trying to get back at her.

Whether or not you get her is irrelevant. She will win because she caused you to forget what your Order is about. Don't let her do this. You will emerge victorious by simply cursing her and moving on.

I truly feel sorry for the children, but there is nothing you can do. If you don't believe in an afterlife, they have ceased to exist and you can't change that even if you want to. If you do believe in an afterlife, they are in a better place and will be free from the torture and manipulation of despicable people like Ms. Vitalia. Either scenario is sad, but you must move on. Creating this vendetta will only mean she is victorious. You can't bring back those children, so dedicate your time to saving the other children. Then and only then would they have not died in vain.

Knight Commander Saissore, I second Fredfredbug4 in that these events have likewise convinced me of your veracity. Once your centers are up and running, please let me know and I will gladly donate food, water and antibiotics and arrange for them to be delivered. In addition, if she has not already contacted you, please be advised that a young lady looking for a nanny/hall counselor type position will be in touch with you.

While it is sad that sometimes direct experience is a better teacher than second hand warnings, I think you have learned anew the old lesson that a leopard does not change its spots, and a scorpion cannot change its nature.

The murder of innocents and mistreatment of orphans is one of the sins that cries out to heaven for vengeance. However, I urge you not to settle for anything less than true vengeance. Simply killing a capsuleer who will quickly revive in her clone does nothing to ameliorate matters. Indeed, she may even not remember what happened except for the killmail that results. Justice without understanding or meaningful consequences by the one upon whom it is sought to be inflicted is empty.

Rather, as a wise Holder told me, one must persevere. What she has done to you and those whose charge you sought to take and protect, warrants nothing less than a declaration of formal vendetta on your archnemesis, and declare that you will start your revenge, expect your enemy to respond in kind, and not quit until the revenge is complete through eternal family and honor shaming, and/or death and the utter destruction of her power base, holdings, and followers. Until then, there is and can be, no justice.

Friends who will buy her drinks, look down her top and pat her on the shoulder whilst supporting her in The Summit or friends who will commit forces to combat one of our more notorious combat pilots and her equally notorious combat organisation in nullsec space?
