So Ive run incursions before, and have flown a variety of ships on various alts. However, Ive never done a comparison for applied dps in various incursion sites. So, I need a little input. Basically heres the theoretical fleet comp and ship "purpose":

OGB - Running siege and Skirmish links
Logis - 2 Basilisks with 5/1 fits
Main DPS - 7 Vindicators with dual/triple webs
Anchor/drone bunny - T3/battle cruiser - something that hits the frigs with better applied DPS than the Vindis. I need some recommendations for this ship...basically what will deliver the highest applied DPS (Tank doesn't matter).

This fleet is designed for primarily running (shield fleet) Vangaurds. Any suggestions or recommendations? Cost doesn't matter.

From my searching thus far...Im leaning towards a Proteus? Also reconsidering missile boats (HAM Tengu?)

Laser Legion is popular for this role but thats also partly because it can field a nice tank too, if the frigates orbit near enough they can easily get under the Legions tracking.

You probably want something with medium sized weaponry, good range and a damage application bonus of some sort, there are quite a few ships that fit this bill, it depends on what you want.

Sounds like a job for the proteus.

Shield Proteus...?

Or have smart Vindi pilots that spread out enough and time their shots Straight

No Worries

True, the Vindis could spread out their shots....but hypothetically they would want to "group alpha" as many of the larger targets as quickly as possible and work their way down to the frigs....while a anti-frig boat would work from the frigs up to anything larger that the vindis haven't killed. Comparing some fits....Im really struggling to find anything aside from a Proteus or HAM Tengu. The tengu could fit a shield tank easier and much more EHPs and wouldn't necessarly have to worry about optimal range, as long as the targets are within max missiles range. However, I would really like to keep away from mixing weapon types within the fleet....though this may be the most efficient setup regarding applied DPS. Still open to suggestions. I know theres a program out there to input what ship/weapons your using and choose a target with velocity, approach angle/vector, etc, etc. If anyone has such a program I would be interested in a calculation with a HAM Tengu and Blaster Proteus versus incursion rats. This is actually what Im more interested in compared to ships/fits with paper dps values.

all t3s are bad at shield incursions, no reason at all to run one over just another vindi/mach/nightmare.
