Why should Large Hull Repairer I have nearly the same skill requirement as Large Hull Repairer II? The only difference is going from rank I to rank I of Repair Systems, a 1x skill.

It seems like there isn't enough training time difference between the tech I and II of this module type. I would think that either the Large Hull Repairer I should have its Mechanics requirement lowered to IV, or the Large Hull Repairer II should have its Repair Systems requirement raised to IV or V.

Edit: I just noticed that the Tech II is strictly worse than the meta 4. WTF?

I believe Tech 2 also requires Mechanics 5 and such as well. I could be wrong

I don't even know where to start. Why do you care about T2 hull reppers in the first place?

Why shouldn't I? I spend a lot of time in areas where there is no station with a repair shop.

Hull Reppers are used exclusively to rep a ships hull out of combat in order to avoid paying repair fees in a station, which is a small niche use. So you shouldn't really dwell on the skill requirements.

Also the T2/Meta 4 dynamic is a common thing with eve modules, sometimes T2 is better, and sometimes Meta4 is better.

Yeah, but usually there's something better about the T2 module in some way, even if it is a stat that isn't directly useful. With this, the difference is that the T2 takes more damage if you overheat it in addition to the usual higher CPU cost. I've seen modules where the meta 4 makes more sense to fit most of the time, but rarely have I seen a situation where the T2 is worse in every way that it is different from the meta 4.

Check SPRs, ECCM, ECM, painters, TDs, damps, scrams, CPRs, neuts, ANPs, istabs, and probably plenty I've missed.
