At the cost of her soul. That's what happens, you know, when you spend day in and day out staring at the same lump of rock over and over and over again.

Wow! Quite the response!
Thanks everyone, definitely going to stay put and away from Low Sec :/

See, look what you guys did. You made another one turn to carebearing.

WAIT! there is still hope!

Chandra, come down to the Providence region.

It will give you a taste of Nullsec without the locals shooting you.

Use this is determine who might shoot you and who wont.

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

Safe is a relative term. Eve's most reliable rule is that you're safe starting the immediate moment after you click "Quit Game".

There's real reasons why your Eve character doesn't do /dance.

Hey. I'll just say from firsthand experience. Low Sec miners have a name. And that name 'Big Dummy', by and large. The only good places to mine are High Sec (if you understand proper safety tactics) and null sec, if you're part of a major null block. Going to low sec is STRICTLY to have some PVP fun. Nothing else.

Statisticly, more penguins get ganked by killer whales in the Antarctic than in New Jersey, too.

Wrong.

You can mine low sec with a number things which ALL have to be present:

1. A POS or two....

2. Some *good* relations with the local pirate block.

3. Fit your barges for speed-to-warp. Not heavy tank. Someone unknown comes in system, warp to POS.

4, Keep aligned.

5. Always know what wormholes are present.

6. Own a jump freighter, and/or be in a quiet low sec system with a gate to highsec. Still better to the have the jump freighter and a second POS in a system that edges high sec. There are not many high sec border systems that are quiet.

7. Try not to mine belts close to gates.

8. Have a way out! In low sec, docking is losing.

9. The corporate standings to drop a pos in a .4 system.

Comments:

Best systems are stationeless, low traffic, and .3 or lower. Opening relations with pirates is tricky unless you are highly trained in something they need. Low sec areas with high sec islands are possible locations, but they are nearly always highly populated. Don't **** off your pirate friends- they will kill you!

Total investment and man power to pull this off:

Minimum man power: Three characters, two miners and a hauler. You are going to mine a lot.

ISK investment: 2b to 7b ISK.

Is it profitable? You can expect a return of 1% to 15% a month depending on whether there's a jump freighter involved how much you mine, and how many miners you have.

Can it be done: Yup.

Should you do it? It depends on if you have a bigger sack than low sec PVP'ers. You're risking billions. They are not.
