so ive been playing EvE for about 4 weeks now. i joined a corp and now i have a chance to live in WH space.

so my question has to do with mining in WH space.

i know i know, eventually i will skill up and mine Gas, but for right now i am mining Ore.

so when i mine in WH space i can get some sweet sweet ore. currently im transporting it back to my corps POS and storing it in my personal storage hanger which maxes out at 50,000m3. obviously i want to sell my ore. now the easy answer would be, "oh, just transport it back to highsec". this is fine and dandy, but my end game is that i wanted to store my ore and eventually refine it when i can get a perfect refine back at my home base. so here are some initial questions:

1)since the WH to hisec will roll every once in a while, is it better to just sell each batch of Ore in what ever Hisec system i can get to for that day?
2) should i just leave deposits of Ore in highsec? (eventually i would have deposits of Ore all over the galaxy and would have a heck of a logistics issue)

so, how would i go about selling/storing my Ore that i mine in WH space?

if we had a station in WH space that would be amazing, but alas we do not.

You don't have stations in w-space, you can only anchor POSs and until CCP iterates on the POS mechanisms, you'll never get a 100% refining, it tops at 75% when using a refining array on a POS.

If your corp has a rorqual in the WH, you can reduce the volume of your ore a great deal by compressing it, but it's a capital ship and if you have a hi-sec static, chances are they either build it inside or don't have one, the high-end wormholes allowing caps don't have hi-sec statics.

Now, when it comes to shipping your ore, I would haul it to k-space then make a freighter run to bring it over to Jita or contract RedFrog to do it for you.

If I'm not mistaken, the Miasmo has a specced ore bay and at level 5 it can haul more than an orca, so one trick might be to get yourself 10 of them, fill their ore bay with ore (obviously) and store them in the SMA ( lol ) to get around that 50km3 limit (if the SMA allows storing it with ore inside, which remains to be verified).

so it looks like that, unless you want to get fancy, transporting the Ore to the current Hisec system that is connected via a static WH on a daily basis, thus leaving deposits all over the galaxy in highsec, seems to be the 'workhorse' of the methods.
since i would prefer to refine and sell my own minerals (something about a sense of accomplishment) i think paying a corp member or Red Frog seems to be the best solution...

See if your Corp will buy your ore from you directly.

It's my take given your constraints, if I was to mine in our WH, I'd anchor a small POS and a CHA, it can store a lot more ORE without eating up space for important stuff like guns, ammos, tackle and such.

Well, one good way to do this kind of thing is to have a POS setup in a C2 or C4 wormhole depending how ambitious you are. C1s don't connect anywhere special, so once you mine out your C1, you're kind of stuck waiting for new ore sites to spawn. C2s will have both a K-space connection, and a connection to another exciting wormhole system you can mine in as well.

If you have a POS, then you can store stuff there. Just beware - they aren't invincible, if a wormhole gang stumbles onto you and decides to have a "POS bash" they can burn it all to the ground. Usually it has to be worth their while though.

One of the things that can make it worth everyone's time to shoot your POS is to park a Rorqual in there. Everyone in wormhole space wants to add a Rorqual to their killboard. I want to add a Rorqual to my killboard (and I don't even really have a killboard - more a of a deathboard....). A Rorqual on D-scan will get anyone's attention who is passing through, and they may even park a cloaked alt in your system to observe you and check when you're online and offline and what ships you have. You get the idea.

Anyway, Rorquals can usually only be built inside most wormhole systems and they can't leave - the wormhole gates can't support them. Basically, they become big blingy additions to your POS and never leave the force field. I can't say I recommend having one of those until you have a corp with the muscle to defend it.

Orcas are a similar story - they tend to attract attention to you, so you're better off not using them until you can defend them.

Mining in wormhole space is pretty dangerous. You have to constantly be hitting D-scan, and if you can have a scouting alt cloaked up sitting on the wormhole entrance, even better. You may want to consider training into a covert ops frigate for your scout. Until then, you can make do with a T1 scanning frig with a basic cloak. It's also useful to have an alt with probes in-system in case your exit wormhole collapses, and you have to scan your way out of there. I'd think the safest ship to fly in a wormhole would be a Venture with it's fast align time, and built in warp core stab. But you know better than me what you can afford to lose and want to risk.

i dont know im just so amazed at W space, its awesome. as a noob, someone who only started like 5 weeks ago, i can already mine ore like Arkanor....and have access to gas mining (with the proper support and all). these are things i thought were not possible for a noob. WH space was this thing that only seasoned veterans talked about....and here i am, pretty much living in WH space.

and now i think i have a choice between two WH corps...lol life sounds good.

That is the best thing about the Brave Newbies. Showing newbies how they can play and have fun even just starting out. Eve isn't a place to "grind to level 80" so then you can do the fun stuff. As soon as the tutorials are finished, you can do the fun stuff if you have the right attitude and can find the right bros.
