Noob question: Buying characters in the bazaar

I was looking at characters in the character bazaar and noticed all the prices are in ISK. I was wondering why none looked like they could be bought directly with PLEX?

Did I simply miss the option to pay with PLEX? Is ISK-only a security measure to help CCP limit fraud?

Isk is a currency used as a means of exchange for goods with no intrinsic value. Plex are an asset with a purpose and a value.

This is like saying "I went to the store today and noticed all the prices were listed in $, why were they in $ and not bread".

CCP's rules for character trading specify ISK only. PLEX can be easily converted to ISK, so, in effect, it's the same thing.
