this is already happening with russian corps /alliances, japanese and koreans are as territorial i would say more than russians.

now tell me how does this benefit english speaking people from europe , us and auz.

Sooo, what you're saying is they'll fight. Most likely russians and each other, which means lots of destroyed ships and possibly some collateral losses of poor sods being caught in the crossfire. And I get to sell ships and weapons to them all. What did you say the downside was?

With the exception of Eve and SWG pretty much all my gaming has been on Korean grinders - my first game Legend of Mir.

I have played with and against Koreans and Chinese - not often Japanese (although I was on a server which had both Chinese and Japanese - a total bloodbath they do really hate each other).

From my experience Asians are totally rutherless and hardcore, they will seek to dominate and will cooperate with each other to do so.

On the downside Koreans and Chinese consider game enhancing tools - cheats to you and me, as normal so there will be a huge influx of bots which will be a shame.

On the plus side Eve is different from other games. Normally they will dominate by multi-ing characters etc, but with Eve this just wont help them "level" any faster so I think the net effect won't be too harsh.

They love thier pvp so thats a bonus too, and they do think out of the box, expect to see new tactics and other fun stuff.

On balance more players is a good thing so long as the server hardware is scaled up to deal with it.

well if you dont speak russian already you better star learning japanese, they take their games VERY SERIOUSLY!!!

see..... drop in suscription numbers problem solved...... next will be the koreans...... and then is game over for the western alliances.

Japanese/Koreans, they actually share a character between many friends ... so they might actually be active 24/7.

i have played mmo where koreans just sweept the foreign player base/ i think japanese are very similar to koreans with their gaming habits.

they though tend to play more japanise games than foreign ones...... it will be interesting to see.....

and we were all worried about the future of ccp and eve...........

welcome globalisation.........!!!!

problem solved....!!!!

the newer oriental player base will be numerous.... more cooperative , less critical , more loyal in subcription terms and less

argumentative to CCP

and CCP will be $$$$$$$ richer.

all in all CCP wins.

checkmate

They took our jerbs!!

Didn't read most of the thread. However, if there is even a shred of accuracy to this - more people in my timezone = win.

Japanese taking over eve?

You do realize that EVE is fueled by pure molten trolls right? They'll sooner rage quit than get anywhere.

The Japanese and Koreans play a vastly different style of games. The question really becomes "will the Japanese be attracted to a western-based game?" If the answer is no then it doesn't matter the localization. From my personal experience they are more interested in the community work and story behind the game. EVE has community work but has nothing with story which might put some asian gamers off.

small diference for us since we all learn english at school.

big big diference since since japanise speak and specially read very little english.

massive influx of oriental players and all the stuff i said before

Sorry, but you are just wrong on multiple points because you just don't know. Everybody in Japan has at least six years of English education. Mandatory part of the school curriculum. The education is focused on reading and writing. They can read English much better than they can speak it. You're just making up false facts bro.

Secondly, lumping Japanese gamers in with Korean gamers is just shows ignorance. Too very distinct societies and very distinct ways of doing things. It's kind of like saying "All Europeans play the same way." Come on, don't talk if you don't know what you're talking about.

As far as I know from experience, having more Orientals playing this game on our server will only benefit to the whole experience.
Hell yes. One of the things I love most about Eve is interacting with people from all over the world. I now have friends in Australia, Scotland, Ireland, England, Spain, Russia, Hungary, etc., etc., etc. Adding people from the Land of the Rising Sun will only make it more awesome.

The OP seems worried that Japanese alliances will take over Eve. That's okay. It will be nice if someone new comes in and curb stomps the status quo and shakes things up a bit. Then you have one more group for tactics innovation - which will push everyone else to become better as well.

We all benefit from this.

Ok, I have to ask as I normally do not spent to much time on being updated with the development, is the Japanese client a troll, or is it really coming, and if yes, I am looking forward to it.

I don't care if they group, as I think most nations do in regard to the TZ and the preferred language

Seriously, don't take me serious, I MEAN IT...seriously

Gentlemen , just put on your best suit and greet the new pilots, why the hell you guys have to complain about it?

Its not like that america have their share of basement dwellers that play this game 17 hours a day, almost the same as the spooky Hikikomoris or variants. So what is the bloody difference between a basement dweller and a hikikomori? The damn country they live, but the habits are the same.

Things change. Instead of freaking out, make a plan. Here's my recommended plan for paranoid Occidentals facing a Far East invasion:

Hide your dolphins and stock up on nuclear projectile ammo.

edit: Also, outsource your grinding and/or isk farming to India in order to stay competitive in a globally competitive Eve.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Don't try to wrestle some semblance of acceptability into your ill-informed and stereotyped opinions by standing behind a 'we veteran players' banner. This veteran player knows you're talking out of your arse, and thinking with it too.

again flaming for no reason, what do you know about oriental gaming culture or identity?

political correcteness is a western term, it means nothing in most parts of the world, japanese and korean players are not going to join us/uk/ auz, russian/ corps , alliances, they will use strenght in numbers and change the game forever.

from other mmos i played before they dominated whole servers completely, and people had to move and make new charaters in new servers just to enjoy the game...

in any case i dont care, this was about the direction of eve (CCP GOT MONEY to translate the whole game to japanese..... but not to fix stuff)

and suddendly has become racial.

so what is going to happen? local and help channels will have messages in japanese? or they will make their own japanese help channels?

do you see the direction this is going?
