Abaddon vs Apocalypse for Sansha sites and L4 missions.

Which will complete sites and missions faster? An Abaddon or an Apocalypse? The Sansha sites I am doing are in -0.1 to -0.3 space, if that matters.

My first guess - and it's only a guess - would be that the Apoc's the better bet; the Abaddon does more raw damage, but the Apoc can project its damage better, and track better against moving targets, and just flat-out move better. The Apoc's also got more capacitor storage to feed its lasers, and against Sansha, you've got to worry about tracking disruptors; the Apoc will be better able to engage from beyond TD range.

The Abaddon looks great on paper but the cap problems really limit it's useability for PvE, you don't get as much bang for your buck despite the tank and damage bonus because you'll need lots of help with cap. The Apocalypse has very strong capacitor and the application bonuses are invaluable for PvE. Go with the Apoc.

If you're doing sites, go with the Apoc. Beams, some cap rechargers, warp in at 50-60km, snipe at will. You won't even get touched.

I run an Apoc for Havens and Sanctums and do them fast and efficiently. However, for running sites, don't forget about the sniper Oracle. It's the same story. I just use my Apoc for when escalations occur and Oracles won't cut it.

I think it all depends on if you need the extra tank of the Abaddon. I used the Abaddon over the Apoc because it just worked better for me and my skill level at the time. But I will admit, with the changes to the Apoc and the local rep buff, the Apoc is the best choice over all.

I think when it comes to missions the abaddon is still out tanked by the apocalypse. A majority of level 4 missions have you fighting at ranges the abaddon simply cannot work in. Not to mention that almost all mission boats are active tanked. The apocalypse can fire its guns and tank much longer than the abaddon ever will. Whilst also killing many things before they reach their optimal and not having to "chase" them. Ultimately the apoc and its navy counterpart are some of if not the best Amarr mission ships, short of a marauder.
It is also important to note that while boasting more applied dps, a longer tank and a much faster speed, this does not make it the superior ship in every situation. I personally feel abaddons make better companions in larger fleets while apocs are great for "apoc" only specialty fleets. You might also consider the new and improved armageddon with its sentinel settup, It by no means outperforms the apoc for l4s, but is a cheaper ship that can be used for a wider variety of roles, and will force you to train for things you should look at training in the future anyways.

Apoc works better as the abbadon has cap issues for sustained engagements.. abbadon does look way better though..

The cap issues of the Abaddon are easily fixed with a cap booster and copious amounts of DPS that is easily applied with dual webs:

[Abaddon, New Setup 1]
Large Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste
Armor EM Hardener II
Armor Thermic Hardener II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II

Heavy Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800
Stasis Webifier II
Stasis Webifier II
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script

Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L

Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Large Nanobot Accelerator I
Large Energy Discharge Elutriation I

Hobgoblin II x5
Vespa EC-600 x5

That being said the Apoc is great as well:

Both of these fits will tear forsaken and forlorn Sansha hubs to shreds. Especially now that the Sansha rats seem to have forgotten how to use their ewar. Personally I prefer the Abaddon for the looks and ~160 extra DPS.
