Drone Assist mechanic proposals

One of the major complaints about drone assist is that it entirely removes the drone owner from all responsibility. Secondly, there is no way to counter the drone assist directly, except by killing the drone owner by sheer firepower.

So I propose three minor adjustments to "nudge" drone assist into a less formidable mechanic:

1) Require the Drone owner to LOCK the drone trigger at all times. Therefore, in order to utilize assist, you must have and maintain a lock on your drone trigger.
- This allows ECM and damps to have some effect (at least better than nothing)

2) Tracking disruptors transfer to assisted drones via the drone owner, but only if using assist mechanic. If 1 TD is placed on a drone owner, each drone gets a proportion of the TD penalty (make ti not stacking penalized). Therefore you TD one domi/ishtar/etc, each of their sentries are TD'd by 1/5th.
- Spread some TDs and the range of gardes drops, whereas wardens couldn't track their own shadow.

3) Drone assist firing delay based on distance between 'owner to trigger' plus distance 'owner to drone'. For each 10km increase in the total distance, 0.25 sec are added to a delay between "fire" command is given and drones actually "fire". This only affects sentries.
- Requires positional awareness on a battlefield. If an FC can force a drone assisting fleet away from their drones then the delay severely impacts the dps of the enemy fleet. Penalizes cowardly drone assisting FCs and rewards aggressive FCs.

Each of these is minor, but no change should ever be overreaching. Small modifications to effect big changes.

Remove drone assist

Problem solved. Its a bad mechanic, its always been a bad mechanic.

Yes it is somewhat interesting gameplay wise but it completely ***** over all attempts at balance

THe only changes needed to drone assists is to allow people to bring LOGI DRONES, and even salvage drones, then allow them to be assisted to other ships, not just freakin scout/combat drones.

Its a pain when you have logi in fleet and you bring, for example, armor drones in your BS to try to help shield logi out and then no be able to assist them to the logi.

For scout / combat drone would smart bomb not work to pop them all?
