so for those that dont know we have alternatives to redfrog like

Space-Mail Express

"Haulers channel"

both do exactly the same as red frog with cheaper prices and they finish contracts faster ANd loose less ships give them a look in next time you need something hauled

The whole thing is kind of tawdry and pathetic, like a Best Buy clerk grabbing a stack of DVDs and running away, while imagining himself some kind of Walter White. The great Eve exploits are breathtakingly amoral to softhearted fools such as myself, but you can't help but be impressed by the scope and audacity of the legendary ones, like the Ubiqua Seraph or Band of Brothers betrayals. This is not in that class. It's a bit sad to see someone torpedo a friendship over petty larceny which involved no more cleverness than moving ISK from one wallet tom another and then running away.

Also, I'm amused by Pirahna's assertion that in real life, white collar embezzlement will get you beat up. Maybe minimum security prison if you're unlucky. But more likely just sued and fired. But if you rip off ordinary citizens, your corporation is likely to be rewarded with juicy tax breaks and exemptions!

Banish plump Jack, and banish all the world.

I haven't had call to use Red Frog's services myself but I know and respect their reputation. My commiserations go out to those who lost assets they believed would be used for the organisation's benefit and to those currently experiencing a crisis of trust.

The worst/best thing about the whole thing is its pointlessness. The new career in EVE with 45 bil in the wallet is a non-starter... because (as I recall) failing to disclose stuff like involvement in corp thefts is a violation of the Character Bazaar rules, one which may well lead to a ban anyway.

Ummmm right...

So the RF dir stole 45b in liquid isk and assets in order to be remembered... then he goes and sells the main char on forums and biomasses his other RF alts... you know to be rememberd as the guy that stole from RF!!

Yup makes sense...

Roll

How about just own it.... you saw isk and ships, greed took over and you swiped it all. The End.

Don't make up bullsh!t after...

Oh and 45b?! Really? Don't troll me bro!!!

Yeah in the grand scheme of things 45 billion isn't that much. More is lost in those big space battles.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

That was actually a pretty damned good read.

I liked his honesty. He even apologized to his new owner.

I have removed some rule breaking posts and those quoting them. As always I let some edge cases stay.
Please people, keep it on topic and above all civil!

There is a little addendum to this story that has not made the press yet, it seems.

Today, after some contemplation, Beatrice, via a newly created alt, transferred 44.5 billion ISK back to our corp White Frog Insurance.

That is something at least I will remember Beatrice for.

Thank you for the moderation because it was getting silly and entirely off topic with its references to 1970s movies

Just to add back in the content, not the offending banter:

Keeping with how EVE provides a wonderful opportunity for people of cultures throughout the world to learn of each other as they're having fun, I like throwing in a bit of history and culture in relation to a name.. especially when used in a meta-sense as a blog writer.

I'd like people to also think of The Mittani as a tribe(and an adept warrior tribe) that lived in Anatolia that were ancestors of the Armenian people.

Perhaps the goon leader is of Armenian or Kurdish origin who chose the name in respect originally , which I would I think would be a compliment . Less of a compliment is when some fix on then name "The Mitanni' in a ways that might forever tie "goonish" behavior to the people (which some do find offensive even if I do not think so quite so much)

I hope my own froum alt name should conjure ideas of ancient Greek Culture as well as aspects of Odyseus's urge to explore and experience in spite of danger in the Odyssey. I like to think of the Socratic method I tend to use in this forum as fitting to my character. I write/speak with a different more, casual voice, when using other characters of mine!

Anyway, whenever The Mitanni is mentioned I hope people take the time to reflect also on the history of a proud people (not only goons ; ) ) The link provided lets people help offset the perhaps pejorative connotation of "Goons" with the historical one . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGH7leHZbKo

Best to all and I hope even the General Discussion forum can prove enlightening when seeing player names that reference history.

Actually, it speaks true to his stated purpose!

He said he didn't really want to be a scammer but was looking for a little "bang" to his exit.

Having achieved his "Andy-Warhol" defined "15 minutes of fame" he returned to the normal part of his sense of self.

Good example of how we can sometimes find a way to explore new senses of self through our role-play in MMO's far beyond the joy-stick driven more instant gratification of console game.(which also sometimes can be a good release of stress in away that doesn't impact those around you).

Very nice and thought provoking story.. in a meta sense as well as a purely game sense. !

What makes red frog better than a fully collateralised (plus a bit) public courier contract?

Black Frog I understand because it is a more 'specialist' service (eg jump freighter into low or null) but any muppet can do highsec courier hauling.

1. Consistency - Turn-around time and pricing for Red Frog is predictable no matter where you are in Empire. When you use Red Frog you can count on your Bashyam to Gelfiven contract being delivered for the same cost/jump and in roughly the same time frame as your Jita to Amarr contracts. Public contracts can work well for popular trade routes, but good luck with those back-water systems.

2. Reliability - With a properly collateralized contract you are never going to lose, but sometimes you'd rather just have what you intended to ship without the hassle of replacing it. Red Frog ships everything in freighters, even that 0m3 PLEX you need out in the middle of nowhere far more than you need the 600m ISK collateral from the guy who got ganked trying to deliver it in a shuttle.

3. Accountability - Red Frog strives hard to keep our queue young. Pilots that don't meet our delivery standards don't last long. Sure, nobody's perfect, but we have many internal metrics and processes to promote speedy shipping. When you post to Red Frog you know your package will be delivered by one of these diligent pilots, not by some random who is trying out hauling for the first time ever on public contracts and decided to log out in the middle of your job.

4. Trust - ALWAYS COLLATERALIZE YOUR CONTRACTS PROPERLY! That said, if you do happen to typo the collateral, Red Frog usually rejects it quickly and lets you know. Of course, theft does happen, nobody is perfect, but I'm pretty sure the odds of getting your stuff back post-mistake are much higher with RF than with public contracts.

Of course, Red Frog is not for everyone and not for every job. I can't speak for Red Frog as a corp -- I'm just a lowly contract pilot -- but I fully support the efforts of places like the "Haulers Channel" and I feel there is plenty of work in New Eden for all haulers, Frog or not!

Once battleships were a big deal, now they get lobbed into space bound meat grinders.

Then capitals. Now it's blob-o-rama and a lot of players don't care about them.

Somehow a 45 billion ISK heist does not stir my loins.

Well OK. Yeah, this part *is* pretty funny. It's about the only part that's worth noting, though.

Burned his reputation. Doesn't have the notorious Alt any longer. Doesn't have the cash any longer. Burned another alt getting rid of the cash. Universally known as unreliable.

Yeah, this story is dead. Legacy fail.
