I've always loved videos like Clear Skies and Future Proof and I finally decided to take a whack at making something in that vein myself. I've never done any sort of video making or editing before, so this was quite the learning experience. I never did manage to get Camstudio to record audio, so... Eve has sound? Space is silent? Anyway, enjoy!

I giggled a little, but that was only because I wish you had better tools to do this. Nice vid, enjoyed it. Blink

Think I smiled the whole way through. This video shows why ship destruction needs to look better; the ending was so anti-climactic!

Thanks! Working on another one now and playing with the video settings to try to get a higher framerate.

I'm using CamStudio 2.7 to record using the Xvid codec. My process was all screwed up the first time because I was trying to edit in Microsoft Movie Maker. Turns out you can import and work with Xvid avis, but you can't actually export them again as a finished product. So I used Handbrake to convert the raw clips to mp4s, brought them back into Movie Maker, and did the editing. That's when I realized I couldn't crop out the Windows toolbar at the top or add captions the way I wanted to, so I exported the edited movie from Movie Maker as an mp4 and brought it into iMovie where I did the final editing and exported again. I think all those exports messed with the quality pretty badly.

Next time I'm going to try recording, converting to mp4 with Handbrake, and going right into iMovie. Much better than Movie Maker. Thanks for the help!
