Target locking mechanism change (solo PVP)

Solo PVP - Blob ruins it a lot in EvE. There are very rare occasions where a single player is willing to engage you (most of these times he has friends 1-2 jumps out...).

Proposal:
Ship's signature radius can already be modified upwards by target painters (by foreign entities) and local modules (ie. shield rigs). Each lock you receive from an opponent ship lowers your signature radius.
Now, each ship should lower your signature radius based on some kind of percentage regarding his own signature radius (ie. battleship with 500 sigrad should lower frigate 50 sigrad to a full minimium, while frig vs. frig should lower it by a smaller amount). The lowered signature radius should never reach 0 to add more tension knowing there's another ships target locking you, albeit slowly. This would make some kind of a queue for the blob.

Results:
0.0 huge blob fights scenario as-is:
FC: "primary is player A, secondary player B" *repeat at least 20 times for added effect

0.0 huge blob scenario to-be:
FC: "primary is player A, secondary is player B"
*at repeat nr. 6
DPS: "need another primary, player A and B are queued"

It would open FCing a lot. Some examples: tackle locks first, not too many so DPS can lock, 0.0 blob example above.

Also solo PVP would become more viable.

Problems:
1) (serious) NPC - lowering signature radius by proposed mechanics from NPC's would drastically ease missions, ratting, plexing etc.
2) Tears to be had from suicide gankers
3) (serious) mechanics that are based on signature radius (tracking, explosion velocity) would be drastically changed. Solution might be another 'thingy' used for this purpose instead of signature radius, downside is probably a lot of coding and a big time investment from developers.
4) Tears from killboard hold-the-pod padders

Disclaimer:
Not sure if this was proposed before, but I've been playing with the idea for a while now.
What do you think?

Everyone locks the falcon before the other side notices it decloaked...

Congrats, you just boosted the bigger fleet.

The more people see you the smaller you get. Magic...

Probably better to add a new attribute to the effect of "Sig Noise" -- more locks = more noise.

SigRad stays the same throughout (so stuff relying on it isn't affected), and you just change sensors to take the noise into account. Add something (modify sebos?) to help cut through the noise (because everything has a counter) and should be golden.

Side to that -- ships in a fleet emit some sort of beacon (which is why we can warp to fleetmates) that negates any noise caused by getting targetted (so reps, etc aren't screwed; and so spider-tank/target setups don't make it impossible to target ships).

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Confirmed, what all toddlers know is finally proven true.

EDIT: In other news: common sense lost, finders fee offered.

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.

As much as I hate blobs I'm very sure a magic shrinking signature radius trick is not the way to go.

Not really polished idea but i like where you are going with this, and that's making solo actually possible.

solo is possible, you've got to choose your targets very, very carefully though. That's a good thing.

Easily exploitable by friendlies too
