Darkness has no meaning and simply becomes a boring sameness without light to contrast with. Living on a steady diet of grim/dark leads to death of the soul as surely as living on a diet of one food leads to the death of the body.

Sounds like you were never living within that darkness.

Sometimes, to paint a beautiful picture, one has to use dark colors.

It's one thing to be in limbo, it is another thing to meet a monster on its level and smile, knowing you know exactly how it thinks down to every fiber of its being. While others look down and assume, for to imagine such perspective is taboo to them.

That's your problem. It's taboo. You don't ever live within the darkness, else it is anything but consuming. Instead, because of how real it is, especially within space where nobody can hear you scream, you are instead empowered by it.

At the end of the day, I love what I am. It isn't perfect but perfection is so unrealistic that to relate becomes a job of throwing yourself into a delusional hippy state, prone to be taken advantage of further in time.

Darkness has meaning, you've simply never bothered to look at it in that light.

And this is what is really terrible wrong with Gallente.
You see, while they are being culturally, morally, mentally and physically inferior, they are trying to treat others like children. But they lack merit to do so. They are trying to bring more developed, efficient and prosperous nations to their level of degradation.
And this is why the Federation must be destroyed.

You quote valid points. Yet one prospect continues to come to mind, suppose Gallente stop being Gallente one day, Diana?

Atop of being able to argue they're no longer proud of themselves, loyal to their own foundations, -all the things key within the State (such a prospect sets you up to loath them in that light)... suppose their nature provokes their downfall and the State reigns supreme. What then, Diana?

The moment they become truly inferior, like us, the Minmatar, just another band of lost people without the guidance provided in the State, what then?

Do you begin to educate us, promote patriotism, inspire from the outside how great your State is? You'll do so already through success in such time.

Will we be able to pull your own card in saying you're trying to influence others with your culture? Even if that originally isn't your intention?

Just an interesting future prospect, made from someone in a neutral position, originating from a society that is far more lost than anything that can be argued of the Federation, or the State.

No need to be so upset, dear. I was simply pointing out that it appears you now have a friend and advocate in Ms. Dea, who I might posit, sees much of herself in you. As I said, the differences between both of you appear only superficial and indeed if I were to close my eyes I do not think I would be able to separate, "Diana Kim" from "Isis Dea". Being so alike in thought, behaviour and desires to me. Your traits and qualities seem so similar to me, that I could not help but to remark that together you both would make quite the cute couple and pair.

I am saddened, that you would reject so casually the advances of a woman such as Ms. Dea who is evidently your admirer. Or scorn her for her willingness to see you just as unique as you are because she is a woman and a jaijii. Don't you enjoy having friends who see you exactly for what you are, Kim?

*snicker* Do not worry, Miss Gesakaarin... Diana is a beautiful little machine of hate, I was honestly expecting worse a word than just 'foreigner' ... is it bad that I find it cute and perhaps a little exotic of an insult?

As was pointed out earlier, she HAS to reject your words because you are Gallente. It's not you, personally, its your kin and race's history that provokes it, both of which I'll politely argue she is in her right to express. The only way I can imagine you being able to make a mark with Miss Kim is in meeting her on her level. Statements like,

"You should hate me, Diana. I don't blame you. I regret dearly the differences between us for there are so many similarities. Our sense of loyalty is shared, our drive equally strict and unrelenting. In many ways, I admire you Diana. No amount of hate can change that."

or,

"History isn't kind; for the Federation to impose as it has, to try to force that beacon of light on others, no matter the intentions behind, Diana, I get it. I actually don't like that side of my peers. Especially when I find traits like your patriotism, loyalty, honor, and dignity absolutely noble and where we are so different, I hate where I see us all so similar. Perhaps one day, we won't be enemies. Perhaps one day I'll be more than just disgusting in your eyes... Until then, I salute you, Diana. Don't stop being the voice of your people."

Statements like that, in flow or nature of being expressed, are key in being able to seed the thought that not all of the Federation is the evil Diana knows so well. Any point made to express, "though you've lost faith in me, I have not lost faith in you.." go a long way so long as they're not expressed from a place of power or overlooking. For then you're acting completely Gallente, using noble traits to acquire your agenda.

Validate the points you can relate, the similarities where you can't, and hope for a time where things aren't so grim between your races... Sadly, that is the only way.

FYI... Welcome to world of savage Minmatar. If you think Gallente roots (as pretty as they might be) can be possibly bad, or even the bold patriotic survival roots of the Caldari, just try to imagine the girl who wakes up every day, looking into the mirror, knowing she's a savage underdeveloped monster...

I have much more faith in Diana finding her way and/or you, than I do for the tribal girl in the mirror.

I don't think they will ever stop being gallente. Only if they mix their genome with someone else, but who would want such filth in their blood anyway?

You see, there is a major difference between federal scum and the State. We don't care if others follow our culture and ideals or not. It is ours and we enjoy it. While gallentean swines try to influence others and propagate their wicked ideas.
We don't even force our culture and customs on those, who live within the State. And if you can't follow our basic rules, you are simply kicked out and exiled.

People do many things to matter to other people, even sacrificing themselves for it. You have patriots in your State's history that have done this. Suppose there is a day the Gallente sacrifice themselves for the people of the State, Diana, will they be more than disgusting?

Agreed. One needs to recognize the importance of work and sacrifice for the greater State, building from the ****-filled bottom, which has been a constant of the history of the State. You are the underdog, the thriving against all odds stacked against them. For them to possibly begin to relate is to stack the all odds equally against them. (Keep going.)

From the outsider's perspective, we watch the State thrive and rise, its values reigning supreme. What then? If nothing else works in our societies, should this be the freedomistic scum of the Federation, the holy fanatics of the Amarr, or the true scum of the undecided, filthy Minmatar... do we follow the model of the State, possibly striving even to join you?

My, how you've started to now fill the role of influencing others, even where you don't want to.

News flash for you, Diana, from a jaijii, with success comes the aura of influence; an uncontrollable way of setting the example (and thus influencing) others. THAT is on the horizon of your State. THAT is what awaits your hate-filled agenda. A day that you are much more alike those disgusting Federation than you've ever desired.

Your plan for then? :3

It warms my heart to see that the irony of human nature to inflict upon itself self-parody and satire by actors oblivious to their own roles remains unchanged.

It truly is a thing of beauty.

"Hundreds of hours" is a very short time for a fundamental change in psychology, even when it's spent in focused therapy by a competent counselor, and the client is willing and actively working to change. We frequently spend thousands in intense neural reconfiguration just to squeeze a few percentage points of performance out of our ships; what would it take to completely upend the knowledge and habits of a lifetime?

I'm not even sure if it would be necessary. Pilot Kim seems more capable of dealing with the world on her own terms than most, unpopular as those terms may be, and is showing some definite signs of adapting to the her new situation. I've no doubt that if she needs some kind of help, or some fresh perspective, she'll seek it out herself.

Well-meaning "interventions" to try and make her public behavior conform to more popular ideals -- well, you've seen the results. Paired with loud and public disappointment, I think they will do more harm than good.

I am curious to understand why she believes the way she does, and my offer to her is always open even though it may very well end in a gunfight, knifefight, or hand to hand combat... Hopefully, though, just fishing.

Still, she is entitled to her beliefs, even though I disagree with all of the gallente as inferior stuff, granted I consider myself Intaki, not Gallente.

In the end, we all spring from the same font beyond the EVE Gate, only our ethnic bloodlines cultural beliefs and upbringings make us different, but we are still all genetically compatible and the same baseline race.

All this superiority/inferiority stuff between races is the biggest steaming pile of slaver hound flop I've really ever heard.

Generally, people are people, and I drink with Amarrians, Gallenteans, Caldari, and Minmatar on a regular basis, share beds with a few sometimes when we are that agreeable to each other.

As I mentioned above, she is still going to hate you. And she is in her right for doing so. You shouldn't be offering her anything, as you are appearing in a dominating position. After all, you own her home world, her culture is deemed unfit within your society, else Caldari Prime would have never ended up in the hands of the Gallente in the first place.

Your race has committed a grave terrible crime against her people and push it further in the discreet influence of the Federation, and now it can be argued you hide it behind noble intentions. Do you not see how sour your offer is?

This should jog your memory:

Cease your offer, if you really do care for her, and honor the reasoning behind her childish stance.

Give her that credit at least.

If you are referring to me, Isis, then you don't have a clue what offer, or suggestion, or proposal that I made. Hell, I merely want to talk and get some fishing in, if she wants to throw down right then, or still hate me afterwards, that's alright.

As a general rule, I don't deal in bureaucratic governmental crap, gets in the way of business and fishing.

And my home world spends most its time either under the heel of the Federation, or under the heel of the State, you need a scorecard to keep track of it.

I am/was referring to you. What people fail to realize is that plain simple conversation/interaction is so far beyond Diana Kim with her (even at times considered childish) hate, and you (for sake of business and fishing) don't seem to care about the greater situation going on. That's the realm of Diana Kim and the source of her pure complete disgust of you and your race.

I may not know what specifics were included within your offer but I can very easily tell you why it has never been considered.

You're Gallente and you're digging a deeper hole by reminding her of that offer now, as if to only assert further that you really don't care about her point of view and the mirrored view of her people.

You don't have to dig for it, you don't need a private moment for it, it is clearly and elegantly put by Diana Kim even to the point of considered childish.

Make the point that there's other capsuleers out there that you dine with, that don't care about what's going on, and you'll inspire her to hate them too. Hell, you've made me hate them already.

You're all hippies in my eyes, delusional to the greater injustice at work and incompetent as immortals and your responsibility to your roots (as Diana is sticking true to hers, and fighting for her people). Diana would call the Caldari in your group traitors and the rest scum for that is the capacity she has present day. I however, am not as nice.

And that's fine too, I'm starting to get sick of trying to to defend your kind these days, the Federation militia is winning this little game set by CONCORD of "claiming" space and it's sickening to watch, even from within the ranks of them. I try to educate others on the injustice that I've slowly been uncovering that has been done to the Caldari people and I'm shut down at every turn. That hurts, clearly all of you are here for the sex and glory, and use of your immortality for personal pleasure. (Should I include fishing here?)

I, the lone true freedom fighter I feel like right now, can't afford that. For after the problem child of the Caldari in your society, comes the Minmatar... and that's a problem that is going to get far more ugly because of people like you.

I would advise against blaming the Gallente-Caldari war on one side in particular. Not only have historians never been able to come to a consensus as to the definitive cause of the war and who the aggressor was, but it's incredibly inflammatory and only causes a massive argument. It's pretty much guaranteed to derail a thread.

If you absolutely must need to blame someone, it's best to blame the extremist groups of both sides. Particularly the Gallente Ultra-Nationalist and the Patriots in the CEP.
