Hi, don't know where this thread should go to, sorry.

Anyway, I like to use youtube to listen music while playing EVE, but a few weeks ago, I found my computer shut down suddenly when I turn video while playing EVE.

Tried to formeting computer, re installing EVE, but couldn't solve it.

Win7 and Win8 both shut downed. Dell Studio 1458 series, need help. THX

Sudden shutdowns usually isn't software related.

Proven in this case with reformats and installs.

Make sure you have the updated drivers for everything. Not the install disks that comes with prebuilt machines. Go to the manufacturer websites.

Also, watch your temps. ****** thermal compound and/or improperly fitted hardware might be another problem. Reapply thermal compound and make sure all heatsinks/cards/ram/cables etc etc are tightly fitted.

If you still have an issue, make sure its under warranty...

Having trouble masturbating while playing EVE.

Please advise.

In extreme temps, the computer shuts itself down to prevent damage. Reapply fresh thermal compound, keep the innards dust free, with good ventilation.

All should be good from there on out...

--edit-

If you're still having issues (I'm going to safely assume its the video card overheating.) The card might be burnt out and will need to be replaced. Which happened to me last year with my 560ti...

I've been having trouble with that ever since CCP got rid of the Pleasure Hub.

Crud clogging up vents and fans are the most common issue.

Take extra care to look between fans and filters and between fans a coolers.

I've 'repaired' several 'broken' computers by removing fans and removing a solid pad of dust and (animal) hair stuck between fans and coolers.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Well, depending on which side you bat for you can either center a Thorax on your screen or find a nice vulvic looking asteroid to admire.

Several problems might make your computer turn off:

-CPU overheat (my first guess)

-GC overheat (bad guess or you'd say computer turns but black screen or something alike)

-Memory issues (DRAM and my second guess)

Thing is while you're playing Eve you're using huge amounts of your cpu because of "nerd programing tech explanation needed" and on top you might also be using both GC graphic controller+GC (which shouldn't happen but welp...)

A lot of factors are possible to cause this: dusty computer elements, not enough freezing stuff, Power "plant" insufficient etc etc etc.

Without further information is a bit tricky to put the finger on one main possible true issue.
Maybe you could try Speccy form Piriform (free and serious people on top of competent) to gather some information of your hardware like temperature active ram amount cpu temperature type etc etc the kind of stuff helping us to understand what might actually be your true issue and help you out.

Anyway, I don't think the problem comes from corrupted files atm. Make a virus and malware search, many free programs are absolutely free and offer enough performance for us random users unless you tell me al kaida or CIA is after you heh Lol

Edit: make sure your computer drivers fully and OS are fully updated and your version a genuine one (should but welp)
With Speccy you can also track your computer temperature and sort like information with some option "can't remember the name" but you'll find it easy.
It's not because it's written "Dell" on the box that means it's adapted to all uses. Not said also you have the good compatible hardware but a package with a reference name and for a price, and you always get for only the price you put in.
